Looking to move to Houston in July/August.

First time home owner and will be using the VA loan.

Area of Interest: West Houston, The Heights, Cypress and Katy.

Anyone have a good Realtor to help an Ag out? Thanks.

Those areas are full. Have you considered El Paso?

Jess Thompson at Re/Max. Has bought/sold in all those areas (she's my wife) and is extremely knowledgeable & motivated.

Katy/Cypress vs. The Heights are very different markets.

You would be best served in (at the very least) narrowing down suburbs vs. inner city living, then picking someone that knows that area back and forth.

The biggest asset a buyers agent has is specific market knowledge. I just don't know many that area going to have detailed knowledge of Katy, Cypress and the Heights. To me, that's 3 different agents.

Money spends much differently in those markets as well. You could buy a decent house in Cypress for what a decent lot would cost in the better parts of Houston Heights.

I always encourage using Red Pear Realty. He is a sponsor on here and with todays technology I personally don't think it makes any sense to pay the 3% realtors want. He so far has leased 2 homes for us, sold 1 lot, and assisted us with the purchase of our forever home. We were told from the buyers that he was a major influence in us winning our forever home purchase with how aggressive he was for us in a situation with 10+ offers.

We used Red Pear last year for our Heights home purchase and had a great experience. The 2% rebate is pretty sweet. We did have a little better idea of what we were looking for though.

You may also want to include Rosenberg and River Oaks in your search.

I've lived in all 3 of those places, but I'm no realtor.

Red Pear is good to go. I haven't been able to use him for real estate needs... My business partner is a realtor.... but I have known him for several years and talked to him when he was wanting to start doing Red Pear and wanted to sponsor. He's a great Ag and definitely worth looking into.

Shelly hardy 7133858141. I highly recommend her. She is very professional and patient. She returns calls and emails. She does not expect you to buy the first house you see and will take the time to show you multiple properties. She communicates well with the other realtors. I would use her again.

Thanks for the recommendations y'all! We'd love to help you, MarathonAg12. We have agents who live in the Heights and Cypress and did several deals in Katy over the last year. Happy to discuss at your convenience.

Gotta throw our amazing realtor into the mix: Jenna Bradburn is Aggie c/o '09 and is one of Re/Max top agents in Houston. She does business all over the Houston metro area, helped us buy in West Houston last fall, and lives in Cypress so she knows the areas you are interested in.
