I've got this contractor guy that has always helped me (for the past 15+ years) with painting/flooring/sheetrocking, etc for my own home and a rental.

I asked him to take a look at a new construction house (no furniture) and it's currently painted white, and give me a quote. It's a 1 story 4 BR, 3 bath, formal dining, and 10' ceilings / 2450 square feet.

I'm asking him to paint the main living area and kitchen with a beige. And the BRs and dining room in other colors.

He will buy the paint (Sherwin williams) and all supplies to do the job.

His quote was $2500 for flat and $2800 for eggshell.

Whatsayyou Ags? Good deal?

Just paid $4000 to have someone repaint 2200sqft two story house. Required 2-3 coats in most areas but I'd still say you're getting a good deal.

That's a good deal IMO.

Not a bad price.

Doesn't seem high but I'd get him to quote you if you buy the supplies.

Our guy works for $200 a day, supplies all equipment for the painting but you buy the paint.

You know who to ask for his info...

Also, painting trim will affect the price, but my assumption is since it is new construction, you just need the walls painted.

Painting trim and cabinetry will be twice as long. Sounds like a good price. But the quality it highly dependent on the painter

That price seems fair, not like a smoking deal, but certainly within reason. You can likely find someone cheaper, but quality may not be on par with your guy. If you're comfortable with his quality, I'd use him. At least you have an established relationship and you know what to expect and he knows what you're expecting.

There are varying levels of paint, so make sure you're getting the quality of paint you want.

Good deal.

Never skimp on paint quality. It always costs less than the labor. Paint is never the way to save a few bucks on a big job.

Good deal, especially with Sherman Williams paint.

Let the contractor buy the paint. They get a better deal on it than you would. And that price sounds reasonable.
