Congrats to AgsMyDude - you're the winner! Please contact suzanne@texags.com to claim your prize!

Though we don't know the timeline of when our country, and the world, have made it through this pandemic, we can still think about what we will do when that time does come. Share what single experience, food, or trip that you are most looking forward to when it happens and you'll be automatically entered to win a Belly Buster Certificate (Large 2 Topping, 6 Peproni rolls, and 1 order Cinnamonstyxz).

Our dining rooms are closed so that means no eating on-site, therefore no buffet and no salad bar.
But now we have Free Delivery!

All delivery fees are waived in this troubling time. Also, we can deliver curbside. Customers can arrive and give us a call to bring the food out to their vehicle.

We are offering all of our daily specials all the time (except Tuesday $1 rolls of course) which includes: Belly Buster (Lg 2 top, 6 rolls, and dessert for $18), Any 2 medium pizzas for $18, any 2 large pizzas for $24, as well as some store specific lunch and manager specials!

Additional Specials:

Family Feast - Large 1 topping pizza and 1 dozen rolls for $25.00
Buffet Bundle - Any 2 medium pizzas, medium stromboli, 6 rolls, any dessert and any 2 liter of soda for $40.00

We are taking many steps including hourly common area sanitizing, sanitizing stations at the counter, removal of all customer contact items (fountain drinks, condiments, napkin dispensers), using only single-serve items. and more.
Customers can call or order online at doubledaves.com
Hours are adjusted to 11 am to 10 pm every day.

Would you guys build a freaking DD inside the loop? Would definitely be ordering pizza rolls as part of the normal rotation.

Wife and I haven't had a night without the kids in over 2 years, and we had one planned for March 20th, which was obviously cancelled. As soon as we are back to normal, I'm planning on getting a hotel in Downtown and going out for the night with zero kid responsibilities.

We were really looking forward to going to Banff with the kids for spring break and were disappointed to have to cancel. We've never been and are hoping to rebook the trip when it is safe to do so.

I'm guessing the closest would be Westheimer? We are sorry. They just can't seem to hold out there . . . last I saw was Buffalo Speedway and 59? The entire company is working on different 'footprints' and hoping to re-establish some lost areas of op.

Amen to this. I was raving pizza rolls the other day & drove from the Heights to the Westheimer location, which is about 3 miles outside the Beltway.

Wasn't there a Double Dave's at 34th and Ella? It became "That Pizza Place" or something like that before closing down.

When it was the "Pizza Place", it couldn't keep it's televisions. They had about two break-ins per month.

Had a Double Dave's in Katy as well when we moved here about 15 years ago. Had some turnover of proprietors IIRC and then what seemed like a good franchisee took over. Good guy as I spoke to him several times, but just ran downhill over time until the end where it was pretty disgusting. Peeling paint, layers of dust, old faded pee-wee jerseys hanging from the wall and tiny little TVs in the corner of the restaurant that half the time were not even on. Didn't look like he put $.01 of upkeep in the place over a long time and each time we went there were fewer and fewer customers. Was almost like he was too close to the operation to even see what was going on.

La Fresca Pizza in my hood has good rolls. They have one up in the Heights area as well, so you might give them a shot next time you get that urge.
