That really sucks. I'm across Barker in Riata Ranch. Haven't had too many window breakings, but in recent years there have been found to be a ton of people that leave their doors unlocked with valuables in them...

Sounds like it was a blitz last night. Several cars broken into. I don't leave valuables in my truck. They didn't get anything from me. I will probably leave the truck unlocked now so as to hopefully avoid the broken window part.

Highly recommend John at Blue Diamond. In and out in 35 minutes and was $75 cheaper than safelite. Note: he came to me at no cost.

Yeah, I wouldn't leave the truck unlocked. Since getting cameras, I've had my truck broken into 0 times (knock on wood). But I've had ass hats just walk up to it, try the handle, see it's locked, and walk away about once a month or so. They just go up the street trying every car.

Sure, I leave nothing of value and wouldn't really worry about anything getting stolen. But I don't want these fools going through all my **** and making a mess of it every few weeks.

Our neighborhood has cameras all over. These dudes just don't care. They checked handles on almost every car they passed. They busted out 3 windows that I know of.

Yeah, not implying the cameras deter them. Simply stating I got cameras so can see them now and see how often they check to see if cars are unlocked. They simply move on if it's locked, hell, They've never even looked in my windows to see if anything valuable is out. Check to see if it's unlocked and move on.

File it online. There's no reason for the police to physically come out. Does the same thing, creates a statistic. They get too many statistics in one area, they assign more patrols. This is true with almost any crime, unfortunately.

Good to know. The statistic was what I was after. Didn't know you could do it online.

Yeah, you can also do it over the phone on the non emergency line.

Honestly there's probably a better chance of it getting recorded if we do it ourselves. I'm sure the cops usually put them in the system, but they are people too and paperwork doesn't always get done.

I was given a card with a case number. So hopeful.

As an FYI, someone in our neighborhood didn't lock their vehicle and had a few small things stolen. They tried to submit online since they felt dumb and knew there wasn't much they could do since it was unlocked, but they got a call from the sheriffs department only a few min after saying they couldn't submit online since property had been taken. A deputy needed to come out.

The only way the damned cops will do anything is if someone steals your truck and their radar gun catches them speeding in it. They dont care otherwise.
