Down in Galveston and curious who has the best fried shrimp, regardless of cost. Shrimp n Stuff is good but looking for something else - I've also been to Cajun Greek plenty, so avoiding that as well.

ETA: I remember liking Millers but that was a long time ago

Love that place - since we are always in Pointe West that is our go-to. Love the fried pickles and burger with the Jalapeo Cheese bun. I can't say I've ever had fried shrimp there, so I'll have to give it a try.

I am a big fan of Benno's... have switched more to their Cajun style shrimp (ordered extra spicy) however. It is essentially blackened shrimp but they are quite hot!

Just left Miller's. Got the 16 fried shrimp on one platter and the 16 half fried / half grilled on the other. Both were excellent and as good or better than I remembered. They call them medium sized shrimp - they were very nice sized. Batter is light enough to really let the shrimp show.

Nice platter with side, hush puppies and roll for $15.99 which is a great deal to boot.

I like going old school to Fisherman's Wharf on Pier 21. Sitting outside by the Elissa with a cold beer or 6, watching boats come in and out.

Good point. You really do need a team of artisans to devein, batter dip, and fry gulf shrimp.

No, I mean the place where you can eat outside while looking at an historic tall ship. So what if Landry's owns it. Like others have said, it is fried shrimp. You go for the view.

Kelly's in LaMarque or Boyd's in Texas City. Not much on atmosphere but the shrimp is really good. The Cajun Greek on 61st is also very good.

Even better view is downtown Houston - there's a ferris wheel that used to be independent.

I'll have to try them. I've had other dishes there and they were top notch.

It is a bit unassuming for the level of food they are dishing out IMO.

nuther hat tip for West End. That place is just about perfect. Food and service is very good and the spot itself seems to match the mood of a vacation.
