Looking for family friendly restaurant options. Want something different tonight. Live in Cypress and willing to drive a reasonable distance.

Google had solid reviews for Little Matt's in West U. Anyone have experience with that place?

Java Lava is kid and pet friendly.

Live Oak Grill on Hempstead has an actual kid's playground set now.

I think people like Little Matt's because of the background story and the owners being nice folks. They also have a good play area.

The food is mediocre.

I 2nd Mias. Get the fried chicken.

We always enjoy Crisp in the Heights (290/610), their back patio has a lot of room. TV's outside on the patio too. Food is awesome in my opinion.

Giuseppe's in Spring, not too far from Vintage. Family owned small Italian restaurant, really good food.

Mia's Table is really good and plenty of options. Drive out to The Woodlands and check it out. Looking forward to the one opening on 290!

Little Matt's food is not that good and I don't really think the place is more kid-friendly than a restaurant with a game room.

If you want to stay in Cypress, give Murdoch's Backyard Pub a try. Plenty of space for the kids to run around.

Serious suggestion. This place is at old 290 and Hegar. Good pizza, very good rueben sandwich too. Not too far from you.

If you like craft beer & Vietnamese food (and burgers/CFS/Fish & chips/etc) then Hughies in the Heights is a good option.

The St Arnold Beer Garden is pretty great

Where did you end up going for that family dinner? Thoughts on the place?

I couldn't get the kids motivated to go anywhere, so we went to charlie d's pizza on barker near 529. We had heard a lot of great things about it and it lived up to the hype.

I've been to most of the places suggested and agree with their recommendations. My kids have become serious homebodies. Their idea of a good Saturday night involves me picking up dinner and hanging out watching Netflix as a family. I guess I can't complain about that.
