It's been ages since I've spent a lot of time with nothing to do down there. Is it worth hitting up Eighth Wonder Brewery with the kids? Wife and I want to go somewhere and have a few beers on Saturday afternoon that's relatively walkable but that's still ok for the kids (11, 9, and 8) to run and around and not tear sh-t up.

If you wanted to have a fun weekend with the wife you should've left the kids at home.

I say head to the corner store, pick a couple 40s in brown paper bags, and let the kids run around Discovery Green while you and the wife booze it up with the hobos.

I am very curious as to how you are going to get you, the wife and three kids into one of those tiny cars.

Where are you staying exactly? With kids 11, 9, 8, I hope it's the Marriott Marquis. If they find out about that place and you stayed somewhere else, they'll all grow up to be drug dealers because of that decision.

That said, 8th wonder during the day should work for your purposes.

ETA: Pitch 25 might also work, but call ahead to see re sex trophies during daytime hours.

That's not a short walk and with all the rain and construction around there, it could be a mud pit.

Also, there are a bunch of homeless camps in between the stadium and the brewery.

Take Rusk under 45 to St. Emmanuel. The re-developed areas on that route means no homeless camps.

The walk from Minute Maid to 8th Wonder is .7 miles. If .7 miles is too far, you're too fat.

8W is good for kids, especially if the weather is good. As stated Pitch 25 is cool w/ kids and there's an indoor soccer court and they can run around play bags if there are no games going on.

Not sure about the other breweries regarding kids cause I haven't been to Under The Radar or True Anomaly but there's not much for them to do at Sigma.

Holler Brewing is right by Momentum Indoor Rock Climbing on Silver Street so you could possibly let them do some rock climbing before/after boozing. Or drop them off.

Saint Arnold is just out of downtown and has lots of games at their new beergarden.

8th wonder then Pitch 25 then Discovery Green for their outdoor roller skating rink.

The Dynamo are on the road Saturday so there may be a watch party at Pitch 25.

We've stayed at the Marquis. They know all about it. They wanted like 4 hundo a night this time around. Staying at the Embassy Suites. My bruiser ass kids are fine with that because they know the Embassy Suites have a free breakfast buffet with an omelette bar, so it's all good.

They make a kiddo size fez?

The Rustic should be fine for the kids. There were a ton running around last weekend.

Service can be spotty but it's a fun spot with live music and a huge outdoor area.

Just pass out the iPads to the kids and go drink at Hearsay downstairs.

I took my 7 year old son to Pitch 25 during a Saturday afternoon and he loved it. We played ping-pong, cornhole on the indoor soccer field, and he played Pac-man. Pretty empty at that time of the day.

If your gonna be an lolpoor and slum it at Embassy Suites you need go full on lolpoor. Get shltcanned on complimentary beer and let the Rugrats run wild around the lobby.

Also, are you just getting one room at the hotel? If yes, that sucks for you because it means that you're maxing out at a very quiet under-the-sheets hand job for that trip.

That describes like half of the vacations we took throughout my lower-upper-middle class childhood.

embassy suites were when my pops was feeling generous on our road trips.

He was a big fan of Tom Bodett and Motel 6, much to my mom's chagrin.

I got ****housed at the Embassy suites downtown happy hour...wasn't even staying at the hotel. Good times

Ended up at the Truck Yard downtown yesterday. Very nice. Some lesbians even hit on my wife. Highly recommended.
