I am in the market for a new mattress. Has anyone been to Texas Mattress Makers? I'd prefer to support a local company rather than going to one of the 500 mattress and mattress ones

Got their top of the line about 7 years ago. It has done really well, but we are about to start looking again. We will keep them in consideration when we shop again, but not saying we definitely will buy from them next time. It filled the bill when we didn't have a ton of money to spend and has done us really well.
And, the showroom on navigation is nice inside. The neighborhood is straight barrio and the building looks like it belongs there, but the showroom was really nice inside.

Bought from them about 3 years ago, middle of the road model I think. No complaints so far. And yes their showroom is nice.

Extended family has bought three mattresses from them over the past year or so. I recommend them highly.

I'm clearly in the minority on them but we went there based on all the recommendations on here and bought a top of the line mattress from them and it's easily the worst mattress we've ever had. Initially it was fine but it hasn't held up at all. Maybe we just got a bad one but I wouldn't go there again.

I know nothing about the company. But to be fair, Mattress Firm is Houston based.

A Houston company, owned by a South African holding company, that is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy for rampant fraud and over expansion.

Heard good things about those Puffy mattresses.

Been using one for 4 years and it's still going strong. Will definitely buy one again when it comes time to.

it's starting to sound like it might have been fraud from the top down. At the very least, corporate was asleep at the wheel to let all that go on.

bought their top of the line about 3 years ago. I had them change out the size wall material to a firmer foam which they did no charge. I have no complaints about it. will buy there again

I'm in the market as well.

Prefer a pretty soft mattress that stays cool.

I do currently have a tempurpedic from Mattress Mack

We bought two from them a few months ago. The mattress in our guest room hasn't been used at all, but we've been happy with the one in our master.

actually your wife and/or girlfriend and/or mom and/or sister and I use that guest room mattress all the time and that mattress has held up to one hell of a pounding.

There has been a Sealy mattress factory in Brenham for as long as I can remember.
