Heading there for beers this afternoon. What are other places I should visit while in the area

For drinks? Or food? Or butt plugs?

I think there's still a witch shop around the corner on Montrose.

Well you've got Anvil just down Westheimer. The Black Lab down Montrose. I like El Real but seemingly no one else does. Good drinks and food at Boheme over on Fairview. Lots of great bars all clustered on Fairview that are all walking distance.

La Grange has one of the better patios in the tine.

HM actually changed their liquor permit so they have booze as well now. Kinda wish they hadn't have done that.

Hay Merchant is about as good as you'll find for beer. Wooster's Garden is close, and they have a good beer and bourbon selection. You've also got Anvil and Poison Girl nearby as well.

Beer Market, especially if you have any interest in watching sports on tv

It's also good if you want a beer selection that's equivalent to your average HEB.

What? They have like 200 beers as long as you're willing to drink a can / bottle. Not that big of a deal

that's a fun area. You have Anvil, La Grange, Hay Merchant, Stone's Throw, Goodnight Charlies, etc., all within walking distance.

Etro is always fun for people watching but I'm not sure if they've moved yet.

I never went to Etro. What was it like? Mildly interested in seeing what Bobby does with it.

to be fair...it is a pretty mediocre lineup of draft beers considering how many taps they have.

dirty 80's bar that played mostly obscure stuff until after midnight. Had an American Physco kind of vibe if Patrick Bateman lost all his money and switched to meth.

You can't walk but Baileson Brewing is about 10 minutes away. A good lesser known brewery especially if you like NE style IPAs.

the wine bar next door is also awesome.

etro is closed and moving. nice scenery at La Grange. Holman draft hall is new and hot with a giant patio and 50+ beer on tap.

Griff's. Because it's a Houston staple.

While true, no where near Hay Market.

My favorite bars in the Montrose area:
-Griff's
-West Alabama Ice House
-Rudyard's
-Lola's Depot
-Cecil's Pub
-Kenneally's

I'm a dive bar guy, though.

You are going to the wrong HEB
jh0400

Why? There is nothing that Beer Market Co has that most decent HEBs don't.

Throw Catbirds and Grand Prize in along with PG and we should have a pretty solid OG Montrose list with Seersucker's.

Also, if you bros are looking for quality talent and an OBSCENE ratio, try out Present Company (old Royal Oak). I can see it douching up pretty quickly, so get in while the getting's good.

All of the places. If Houston has a ground zero for food and drink, that's it.
