Don't quote me on this, but I believe it is $2500-$3000 if not a little bit more.

For travel teams, try $3600-$4300 dues, before travel expenses.
AKA 13-0

Thank you for the replies.

I am trying to impress upon the wife that understanding the cost of alternatives is worth it for those of us non-texags millionaires.

Thanks

I lost $50K last year betting on this. Thought I had a no fail system.

Yeah, that's the starting point. But they really get you with the added fees for hair bows, supplements, HGH, roids, etc.

If you are on a National travelling team, you will be lucky to get through a year under $5K when all is said and done... Dues are just the beginning. Private lessons, camps, fund raisers, events, and other expenses will add to your total.

And travel.... Lots of travel. Dallas, Austin and San Antonio are all drivable and less expensive trips, but this season we (15's) attended National Qualifiers in Spokane, WA and Kansas City, as well as a trip to Topeka, Kansas and then the National Finals in Detroit. It isn't just the expense of your daughter going, you also have at least one parent on most trips to get flights, transportation, hotels, and food... It will add up, but if you have a player on Royal or Black from 14's through 18's, you probably have college offers coming, so maybe it is an investment in her education...

In fairness to Skyline, the other top clubs will probably run about the same, but Skyline is probably a little more expensive, but probably produces more top players...

Sending my teenage daughters on road trips to faraway places with middle aged creepers...$5K seems like a real bargain. USA Gymnastics would get 3 times that much.

Speaking of creeper coaches, did they shutdown that Katy volleyball club after the coach was arrested in a sex trafficking sting?

Went through all of this. It is expensive but we liked it. Very good experience. Skyline is a good club. Houston Juniors is good.
What can be a problem is the number of girls on each team. 10-11 is fine 13+ is a court time issue that will divide teams.
The bigger clubs brag about number of girls getting scholarships. This can be a little misleading. Most are at schools we would never consider sending our daughter to.
Consider the smaller clubs. Coaches can be just as good with significantly more playing time.
If you are starting out court time is key. All the big clubs recruit the top players from the smaller clubs as the girls get older. Top girls play free and they brag about scholarships. I have no problem with that just beware that your club has no loyalty to your child.
I chased kids sports for 20 years and club volleyball is probably my favorite.
You can not overcome height as you progress. If you are thinking college play and if your daughter is not going to be 5'10" plus push her to be a setter or libero. Most young girls do not want to play setter. It is a great position that has touches on every play.

I think we'll just try the good grades route and see how that works out. Seems easier, and you get to go somewhere you want to go.

I suppose i should have been more specific.

I already understand yhe additional costs of all the extra travel that comes with a national team. I am specifically looking for how much that club's base fees are because they are the next big club closest to where I live and is actually a more established club.

The club where we are at my wife thinks is more of a fit in terms of "personality" if there is such a thing. I just want to point out what that means cost wise, so that a decision is made with full understanding.

Regarding all the **** comments, yall are ****ed up and i feel sorry for you.

I totally get the "fit" or "personality" concerns of a club meshing with your daughter or your family. But by 14's, if she has the skills/height/desire to play for a top club team, the sooner she gets there, the better... Most all of the clubs have good coaches or decent programs, but the TOP programs (Skyline, HJV, Tornadoes, AVA, TAV and a few others) will get you the extra competition, recruiting connections, and coaching that makes a difference if the goal is to play at some college level. If she just wants to make her high school team, play with friends, or compete for fun, then any club will do.

Also, tryouts for Skyline and HJV have already taken place for next season I think. If you were offered a spot, they should have given you the first bill right then...

My daughter signed for a different club.

I asked my wife to have her try out there.
