It's interesting to hear the "horror/haunting" stories of Houston and the surrounding area - We talked about the (2) Candyman here a while back, and there's the story of the Todville Mansion, the haunted Spaghetti Warehouse, etc, but I just read about one that I've never hear of before....
Part of Newport subdivision in Crosby is built on an old black cemetery that was used until the 1930-40s. The people who first bought the house in the early 90s reported all kinds of weird stuff - the usual - toilets that flushed themselves, lights flickering, strange dreams...and found bodies when the went to dig a pool.
There was a lawsuit which they won, but was then overturned by a jury - so they abandoned the place and moved, as did several of the other neighbors.
This inspired a book and a movie.
How have I never heard about it?
