Is it Brenham, Caldwell, Cameron? 290, 36, 190? Are those roads any good?

Been visiting family there for 30 years

Roads are way better than they used to be, but parts of 36 are still 3 lanes but people generally get over on the shoulder if they are driving slow

290 to Austin, then 130 (toll road with 80 mph seed limit) which drops you off on 35 just north of Georgetown

Brenham, Caldwell, Cameron. Tried multiple ways, this is usually the fastest. We take I-10 to Sealy to Brehnam, not 290 though.

Half of a 3-4 hour commute on what is an equivalent of 105?

I concur with the Brenham-Caldwell-Cameron route. I used to have to drive to Lampasas regularly, and that was the best way.

Don't speed in Rogers.

290 to Hwy 6 to Hearne. Left on FM 485. Go all the way to 53 then into Temple.

The bridge was out on 485 just outside of Hearne the last time I went through, so you may have detour around that.

For the love of God. Google maps literally effing does this for you. It shows you all the possible routes and estimated times for each. And when you select a route and follow course. It updates in real time and offers alternate faster courses.

There is a detour on 485. I'd avoid that route. Depending on what part of town you're in 290 to 36 is the best.

I once got 2 tickets passing through Rogers. It's the all time speed trap.

2. Enter "Temple, TX" into screen
3. Hit Go.
4. Profit.

The way I take (I'm from Temple):

Left on 485 (at the Loves stop just north of Hearne). This will turn into 53 I believe
Just after Zabcikville take the Oscar spur (3117) to 190 (If you want to end up on the south part of town)

If you want to end up on the North side then stay on 53 and it will take you into down town

2 hrs and 40 min if no traffic

My wife was a resident there for a year and n it's how I went to see her. I hated the Austin route with a passion.

485 is going to re-route you due to a bridge replacement.
