We have been members for about two months. We are using it as a stop-gap until we likely join Lakeside in a few years. It's great for our family because of the multitude of things to do between the Sports Zone, Kids Zone, pool, etc. You can spend a hot or rainy day indoors and not run out of things to do. The gym/workout areas are great as well. I've gone up there on numerous occasions and spent hours on the property with the kids. They also have a free nursery so mom and dad can do their own thing.
But it's a tired club that needs some major updating. It's in a bad part of town. The restaurant is average and the service is inconsistent, especially by the pool. Our view is that it's cheap and we therefore don't expect Lakeside quality staffing and treatment.
If you want it for tennis, gym, it's probably worth it. Lots of events, classes, etc where you can meet other people. They have a ton of members but it never feels crowded. In that area of town it's about the only option if you don't want golf, unless you want to go east and spend $20k to get into the Houston Racquet Club.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm sure we can both benefit from some sort of referral program if you do decide to join.
