Howdy Ags! I live in Houston and have Comcast cable & internet and I pay about $135/month (which I'm sure will increase). I'm a recent graduate and can afford this, but besides football games, the Walking Dead, and maybe Tosh.O......I really don't watch anything else so I'm tired of paying so much. (And I'm tired of calling Comcast with problems every other month.) I'm looking for an alternative to cable and internet that's cheaper. I have a Netflix and own a laptop, Xbox 360 and a Blu-ray player. Is there any way I can use what I have for decent sports and other tv shows (that's not illegal)? I have Bounce Energy so I may just get internet through them and totally get rid of Comcast. I want good enough internet to use Xbox Live without crazy lag.

Please tell me what you all use and the cost per month, or if alternatives are too much hassle and to just stick with Comcast or some other cable or dish provider.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, Comcast seems to provide the best internet in my experience.

But for TV, we use DirecTv.

FWIW, more bandwidth doesnt always mean lower latency. Fewer network hops is what usually works out best, and a transmission standard with less overhead.
