For you, or your kids? My BIL is a great orthopedic surgeon, but he is head of the Memorial Hermann Pediatric Orthopaedics, no one over 18 that wasn't a patient before and is dealing with an ongoing issue.

The surgery is for me.

I am seeing Dr. Omer Ilahi in Baytown. A few others I have tried are booked for awhile and I need the surgery as soon as my knee will allow. I am not allowed to work until my ACL is injury is cleared. I know rehab takes awhile and my job is a physical job in nature.

Besides not being able to work, I really enjoy lifting weights (lower body) and running. I know rehab may be painful but I am looking forward to getting back into gym etc.

I will look at McCullough and see if he can schedule an appt. with me this week.

I tore my ACL skiing Jan. 9th and have had the MRI done

Dt. Tim Sitter in Sugarland rebuilt my ACL, and cleaned up some cartilage in the other knee a year later. Did a great job.

I'd recommend Dr. Anup Shah at Kelsey-Seybold.

Do yourself a favor and go see Dr. Ken First at http://www.allamericanorthopedic.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/site.physicians/action/dtl/phys/99844704.cfm

He's the best in the business by a very wide margin.

A very wide margin.... hmmm... biased much?

Take it from someone who works in the orthopedic surgery business in Houston, there are quite a few talented sports surgeons in Houston. McCollough is great. First is good too. Omer Ilahi isnt bad. Lintner is another good choice.

Truth is, there are a lot of great sports medicine surgeons in Houston. Just make sure whoever you go to is fellowship trained in Sports medicine and specializes/focuses in knee scopes.

Thank y'all! I tried Lintner but he is booked until Feb 9. Ilahi saw me immediately and can operate as soon as my knee is ready. If Ilahi is bad let me know or send a private message. I have no idea who is good and there are so many. I will look at the doctors above tomorrow morning to see availability as well

Memorial Bone & Joint has a pretty good crop of Orthos.

I've worked with a few of them, and you cant go wrong with Dr. Cupic or Kreazuer for Ortho. Dr. Schroeder is an Aggie, and a great guy. One of the nicest surgeons I've met.

Only one guy I'm letting operate on my knees, if necessary.

Yes indeed. He is simply the best. Ask any of his former patients (including myself). His knowledge is incredible.

When you go ask him his opinion on RG3's knee and why he will not be back in 8 months.

Saw First and McCulloch and went with McCulloch.

I've had multiple surgeries both orth-o related and for cancer. My barometer for picking a surgeon between 2 equally qualified is to judge on bed-side manner. I ask a question that I've either already asked or ask a seemingly dumb question to see how the doctor handles it.

McCulloch was far more patient answering my questions, so I knew throughout my recovery, I would have for me, better access to information, etc...McCulloch was also more willing to spend extra time in the exam room prior to the surgery making sure all of my "regular" questions were sufficiently answered.

He did a major surgery on me over 5 years ago, and I'm doing great.

I'd have McCulloch cut on me again if necessary.
