I've been on weekends and it is $25, is it the same during the week?

The highest min I remember was $20 on Sat night when I went last year.
There were still some $10 tables as well. Though more crowded.

When I was working as a landman and would venture into SE Louisiana Parishes...we'd hit L'auberge during the week. That was a few years ago, but even then the tables were $25 during the week.

I'm sure with the economic downturn that they don't run that same in-week game...but who knows.

Ummm...how do I say this nicely? You're absolutely incorrect.

They should have 5 dollar tables and on busy saturday nights they might turn some if not all of these into 10/20 dollar tables.

Just like most Casinos. During the week they'll prolly have 1 or 2 of each low end table open and 1 high end table. 1 - $5, 2 - $20, 1 - $50 etc. They can change the table amount as the need arises.

So the only thing I have learned so far is that a lot of people on this thread don't know what the hell they are talking about.

On the weekends they may have 1 or 2 at most $15 tables early in the day on a Friday or Saturday, but once 8 pm hit you cannot get on a table for under $25 and the majority of them are $50. It's good and bad, because on the cheap tables you have a bunch of morons who don't know what they're doing, so you're liable to get killed and pissed off at the same time. I prefer the $50 tables if I'm at the table with all of my friends who know what the hell they're doing.

CM - I'd be willing to bet that during the week you can find a couple of $15 tables. I'll be there a week from tomorrow so if you're not going before then I can tell you for sure.

The only time I've seen $10 or less is around 3-5am on a random weeknight. Rarely do you find anything less than $25

puddy i said that wrong.. I meant the 'average' min.. most tables were $20. some where $10. (edit: I played at a $20 table for a while, then got up and was pissed cause I realized there was a $10 table nearby.. though it had hoards of people around it.) Some where $50 and who knows probably higher.

Point is, not one damn casino in the history of casinos has 1 minimum at every table throughout the casino. They vary. Surely people realize this.

I'm going a week from tomorrow too. I guess we will find out at the same time. I'm cool with $25, but my wife likes to play $10 or $15 so I'm trying to decide if we should just slum it at Isle of Capri.

I don't even know if the average minimum is even that low. I don't recall ever seeing a $10 table there, and I've been during the week. Lowest I've seen is $15.

Well I remember my experience as I typed above. I've only been there twice (and LDL is the only casino i've been to in LA.) I rarely gamble, so I remember each time pretty distinctly.

I just thought you were calling out my 'highest min'.. obviously the highest min. in the joint ain't $20, or $25 for that matter.

If I'm going to have to spend 25 to 50 as a table minimum I'm taking the extra dough and flying to Vegas.

I despise LDL, it's Lake Charles yet they squeeze the *****out of their patrons because they are the only serious game in town. I can't wait until they actually have some real competition. If you are looking for $10-15 tables go to Isle or keep driving to Coushatta. There is supposed to be a new casino resort opening which will be good for the area and those of us that want to try our luck in a new place.

I go on a serious gambling binge trip there about once every 1-1.5 years where I stay the entire weekend with an occasional quick stop one other time a year (my hometown is BMT). It's frustrating having to pull strings with concierge to get a reduced rate or comped room just because I don't gamble there that often. They just want to milk you for everything in addition to taking all your money at the table.

Don't get me wrong, LDL is fun as *****but I want to cry every time I leave. This seems like more of a personal problem to me, rant over.

sounds like some of yall oughta just slum down and go down the road to Isle of Debris.

I don't see the appeal. If you only go on a serious binge once in a year or 2 then splurge on Vegas. LDL rooms are more expensive than some of the nicest rooms in Vegas if you don't get comped. Also, there is no appeal to LDL in my mind. Hell why not just drive farther to NOLA where you can gamble at Harrah's and party there???

I feel sorry for the poors this time of year.

The new casino is supposedly like Mojito Bay or something. Sounds stupid but if it is anything approaching L'Auberge then it immediately will be a hit.

When will Texas start gambling in state?

The Paragon in Marksville was pretty clean. I would recommend if you wanted to drive a little further.

But they didn't have any craps tables open on a Monday morning.

marksville is a long way when you can just go to Coushatta

I'm with you on the comp system comment. I don't freakin get it. You go and lose a lot of $, you'd think they'd cut you some deals to get you back. Instead they lower your free cash. What the hell would make me want to go back after I just got killed when I don't have as much casino cash? Seems like an incredibly stupid comp system to me. I get better comps from the Wynn and I've only gambled there 3 times in my life. I get free weekday rooms at both places, and a discounted rate on the weekends at Wynn vs. no weekend discount at Lauberge.

I play a minimum of $25/hand for a good 10 hours and will often play $50-$100 hands when I'm up (I gambled for 14 straight hours last time at this rate) and my comps still suck. If it weren't for one of my buddies who goes pretty hard so he gets them to send a limo for us, I wouldn't go near as much, if at all.

^ +1.

I get free rooms any day for about 10 months after my trip and then on the 12th month when i want to go I call up and its like pulling teeth to get a comp room. The last couple of times they would only give us the preferred rate of $70/night (a lot better than $400 or whatever they try to charge) but we always end up getting that comped at the end of our trip. I start out at $25 also but that doesnt last long depending on how many crows i rip in the first hour. Last trip was f-ing awful, got absolutely murdered. I get free airfare for 2 and weekend stays at Beau Rivage (same mgmt co as LDL) now because of the beat down. Hahaha.

I want to say we saw you there around this time last year, or whenever it was the last time you went. I was with SF who you knew from PWC.

I think that trip was June/July of '09 when we ran into you and SF. Last time I was there was February of this year.
