Just got a new house. Who's got the best deals on appliances down here?

I got a fridge and oven at the Sears outlet. I ended up with a fridge, new in the box, that was cheaper than the "dented" one they had on the floor.

There's a GE warehouse with appliances on the feeder of beltway 8 near the horse track. Its just past the light before you hit FM 249 headed East. If headed West, cross FM 249, make U turn before light and it's on the right as you head back East. I bought a new washer and dryer there. They have other appliances. Little dent/scratch warehouse.

New appliances, eh?

I'm guessing you went for the one with the lake view?

Go with the dinged/scratched stuff. Brand new and pristine out of the box is a waste of money.

I bought all my appliances at the Sears Appliance Story off of Cypress-Rosehill and 290 when I bought my house last year. Git a great deal and had everything delivered the next day. And since I purchased the items in Cypress, sales tax was only 7.25%

as others have said, the Sears outlet store is a good place. I got a part for my dryer there a few years back and they had several washer/dryers that were 1/2 what they'd be in the store. Full warranty too.

A couple of notes about the GE warehouse as well as any other 'scratch and dent' places: you need to know exactly what you want when you go and plan on having to go back once or twice. You should also plan on haggling about delivery - some places offer it (and for a price) and others don't.

I bought a replacement dryer, an upright freezer and later a washing machine from the GE warehouse but I had done my homework and knew what I wanted when said appliances had failed. Highly recommend them.

Good luck and hth...

Just got all new kitchen appliances & washer / dryer from Sara Appliance. It's just inside the beltway on I-10. Good prices and they take care of installation as well.
