Where is the best indoor pool in the Woodlands? I'm wanting to start training for my first triathlon but need to find a good place to swim. Preferably one that's open in the morning before work. I see there are a couple YMCAs in the area but it looks like only one has an indoor pool, which is obviously preferable until the weather warms up. Any other places you guys/girls know of? I posted this on the Health/Fitness board as well.

The YMCA I got to (Cypress) has a tri group that meets a few times a week for work outs.

Also, they offer a swim class M/W/F 9a-10:30a and 7P-8:30 M/W. It's not lessons, more like an organized work out. 3-lanes, beginner, intermediate, advances. I usually swim with the intermediate and we probably average 2800yds a work out. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Lots of folks in our group are triathletes.

It's a great work out, not only b/c it's organized, but because you have other folks who are faster than you pushing you along. Also, the peer pressure thing comes into play to keep you swimming the whole time and not skip parts.

NOTE: Works outs are not a continuous swim. But various drills, laps, sometimes timed, etc...

I guess my point is go to the Y and see what they offer. I don't know if the one in the Woodlands has a similar swim program.

The City Rec Center in Conroe has an indoor pool.

Villa Sport has an indoor pool - but it's pricey. It's a very nice gym though...
