A little confused here. Never had to pay water bills straight to the City of Houston, so I'm trying to catch up with the situation.

I pay all my bills through my Chase account. However, in order to do so, I have to have an address or biller name or something. The online bills that I can get on the City of Houston website don't have addresses or billing names to send the bills to, so I can't get that going.

Everything I see on the website points to "QuickPay", either through Credit Card or Electronic Check. I don't have my check book on me right now, so I tried to pay through Credit Card. The Credit Card link hasn't been working.

I guess I'm just frustrated because I never get the email notifications for my bill, even though they have the right address and every time I make a change on my account I do get an email. I check my junk mail and everything. And it's just been really difficult to pay them online. How do you guys pay your water bill?

It's the only bill that I still right a check, stick in an envelope, put a stamp on it, forget to put in the box for 2 weeks, and then pay late fees on. I hate their online system so much that I keep this processs going. I should probably figure it out, but it makes me feel so 1990's.

I don't get paper bills though. I am signed up for paperless billing. I am signed up for paperless billing with ALL my accounts, and this is the only one where I can't just download a PDF of what my bill would look like.

I use automatic debit, and I get an email notification every month.

Since you are paying the City of Houston for your water, make your payments payable to City of Houston.

I forget the PO box address that is on the bills, but if all else fails, use 4200 Leeland St, 77023. You can also call 713-371-1400 for assistance with your account.

That's incorrect. It may still get there but the checks definitely go to a PO box.

I can assure you it is, in fact, a correct address. I went there every business day for a year and a half.

3016 might be the po box, from the zip code.

Looks like they changed it to the City's master PO Box

Severn Trent is just as bad about this. it wasn't until maybe 6-7 months ago i think that they set up the ability to auto debit your water bill.

I'll be on the look out for your spread sheet that shows how much time it takes each of your bills to post from the time you submit payment, along with the MoM variance in % change per vendor.
