The doctor we saw last week says Olive Jr. needs a lot of work (tubes, tonsils, adenoids, etc.). Dr. Father-in-law and Dr. Uncle-in-law both say via phone that the diagnosis sounds a bit excessive & suggest we get a second opinion. Can anyone help? TIA.

Off mason I went to a ENT Dr, for my wisdom teeth a few years ago and he was pretty good, Idont remeber who it was, but it was in the center right across from the cici's off mason

What area are you in? I have a good one in the Red Oak (1960 and 45 area). He did tubes and adenoids in both my kids.

I don't know your kids situation but I will tell you that getting the tubes was extremely helpful for both of my kids. The recover time is also extremely fast. They are fine later the same day.

Newton Duncan. He is the best peds ENT in town. Works out of med center and Sugarland.

Had tubes put in last week with Dr. Moorhead at Texas ENT Specialists (Gessner and I-10, near the hospital). Came from a recommendation, we are pleased.

I don't have a recommendation for her, but just wanted to say my son had all of that done at 2. Earlier than they like, but so glad we did. Everyone I know always has to use a full 10 days of pain meds. As long as you give the meds exactly when pain meds on time, you'd never guess the tiger was sick. Same experience with everyone I know with a young kid too.

The doctor we saw was in Dr. Newton Duncan's practice. I'm guessing the 2nd opinion should come from an ENT outside of that practice? I'm gonna go ahead and plead complete ignorance as to how these things work.

Dr. Soham Roy is a UT doc in the medical center. He is awesome.

Our ENT was Dr Bonner.

The other good thing about him is he is part owner of the sugery center (TOPS) that shares a parking lot with his office so when you have the surgery it makes it easy.

They are older guys. One of his partners gave my wife her tubes when she was a toddler and she's 31 now.

The first time we were told my son had to get tubes I was vey nervous because I didn't know anything about it but it's really not a big deal and made a big difference with him.

Funny side story - I was with him when one of his tubes came out. He was playing, stopped, pulled something out of his ear, said yuck, threw it on the ground and kept playing.

We liked Dr. Edmunds from the same practice as Dr. Duncun. What did your pediatrician say when you were initially referred to the ENT?

Dr. James Albright with Texas ENT, I believe.

Newton Duncan did my now 11 yr old son's tubes, tonsils, adenoids.

He was great and the best thing we ever did for our son. He had constant ear infections - since then he's had zero.....going on 7 years.

I am a nurse on a floor at TCH where we see a LOT of ENT type kids- Dr Duncan and Dr Tiffany Raynor are both awesome, and this is coming from someone who sees them a lot.
