Had a little sample of this last night and not quite sure what the fuss is about. Definitely not worth the $10-$12 per pint. I'm sure I'll get chastised for this, but I thought it was terrible.

Doesn't surprise me. I scored some Divine 6 and still have two bottles in the garage. I give it to people who have stayed too long. After drinking it they get the message and leave.

yeah i think the jury is out as uber-overrated.

Luckily i didnt sh*t myself trying to go out looking for it.

I don't know which # it was, but a guy that got a sample of Devine at the bar yesterday said "this tastes like a pumpkin's sh*t"

you know i never knew this beer was sought out because it was the world's greatest beer.. i thought it was because it's a limited edition, usually a unique beer, and I think most importantly, it supports our only full fledged microbrewery, something I'd like to see more of in this town.

That's why I bought it anyway.

As for the price tag.. if you had something you knew would sell out in days time.. wouldn't you charge a premium?

I like it... but I also love pumpkin beer. I had two friends who said they hated it and another who said he loved it. So out of me and my friends we are split 50-50.

It is very similar to cheese prefrences, where some people like the stinky moldy cheese and some like the spray cheese in a can. One is a lot more expensive than the other.

i agree with Tim, its not claiming to be the sh*t, its just a small batch that brew-folk seek out.

DPud, what kind of beer do you normally drink?

I guess I'll add.. i liked it.. on tap and from bottle. I think it could use a little less alcohol, so the actual flavors can come out more.

I still think DF head punkin ale is the best pumpkin.. so far.
BJ's brewery has one on tap now.. and it's really good as well.

I like Dogfish Head Punkin' Ale better than DR9. DR9 is alright.

I like Abita way more than Saint Arnolds.

^I've only had Purple Haze. What other stuff do that have? I like pretty much all of Saint Arnold's stuff except for Lawnmower.

Bucemi - I drink all kinds of beer. This beer tasted like sh-t.

i think s.a. brews bj's beers for all tx locations.. funny texas alcohol laws.

if you brew it, you can only sell it in stores..

if you wanna sell it in onsite.. somebody else has to brew it.

it is still bj's beers, and their recipes.. they just can't touch it until it's in a keg.

Abita has a good amber, and theres always Abita Turbo Dog too.

I think most of the Saint A stuff is good, again like metaltim said, i also like supporting the local brewery over bigger corporate stuff. Plus im a sucker for the Christmas Ale & seasonal brews.

Of course beer snobs may tell you otherwise, but theres alot of good craft and microbrews out there, Saint A's just being ONE of them.

head ninja.. abita has a sampler pack at most large specs.. they have a turbo dog brown ale, jackamo ipa, a restoration pale ale, an amber, and a red ale that came in the pack i got.
the red ale is the seasonal brew, so that one would change throughout the year.. they have a christmas bale.. i'd guess it's in there now.

yeah, thats what i thought. Hell i havent been out to BJ's in quite a while... sounds like i need to go hit the Willowbrook one after work one of these days soon.

St Arnolds does handle the beer for Houston BJs, or at least they did up until recently.

The DR9 is ok.

It smells good but the taste is just ok.

Not my favorite.

man jetch go today.. tues is $2 pints from 4-7.. and you can get a half price mini pizza anyday at that time.
you can't beat $2 points of their brew.. the pumpkin, pale ale, and jeremiah red (a hefty 7.3% abv). and $5 mini pizzas to boot.
