Any help?

I'm looking for a bunch of beef and chicken fajita meat that is pre-seasoned and pre-marinated so that I can cook it out for a party this weekend. Anything more authentic than HEB would be nice.

I live 290/BW8

There are quite a few off Longpoint Rd in Spring Branch.

I am sure there are places in spring branch.

El Tiempo market on Washington has awesome marinated meat. It's next door to El Tiempo restaurant.

Thats funny, because I get more compliments on the HEB stuff. Every time we serve it, people rave about it....

Second El Tiempo. especially the chicken. People come to our annual party every year just b/c they know I'll be cooking their fajitas. Really Cheap too.

Third on El Tiempo market.

Extremely cheap especially compared to the restaurant nextdoor...

El Tiempo Mkt is good - it used to be a Matamoros Meat Mkt. And their seasoned chicken pieces are a hit when I've cooked 'em.

La Michoacanas are usually solid also. I've had good luck at the one on N.Shepherd & the one on Irvington. Further south on Irvington is a new Tortilleria that sells fresh, home-made tortillas both corn & flour.

The markets will usually trim off some of the gristle/fat if you want (ask "preparada" or make a cutting motion with your hand if you don't speak the same language as the butcher).

Just go buy a couple of pounds of beef fajitas from El Gallo and claim that you made them.

La Michoacana has awesome marinated meats. Try a few marinated "costillas". They're FRANtastic.

Just picked up 4.2 lbs of marinated beef and 3.5 lbs of marinated chicken breast at El Tiempo Market for less than $30 out the door.

Very impressed with this place. The guy sliced the beef for me for easy grilling too.

I will be going back

Swingline if you live at 290/BW8 just go north to fallbrook. Right there off the beltway is an Exxon Station next to a small strip. Los Burritos Meat Market is excellent. Been going there for over 3 years now.

wouldn't it be easier to grill one piece of meat vs. 30 small pieces?

thats kind of what i was htinking...unless he meant it was a huge piece that he cut into sections maybe?
schmendeler

perhaps, but slicing means more like for plating size than breaking it down. in any case, that's a pretty damn good deal, it seems. i wonder what cut of beef they give you?

4 bucks a pound for beef/chicken fajita meat, just for it being marinated is a little steep.

HEB and then customize it from there.

yeah sorry.

The guy sliced it thin, not in tiny slices. It was a little thick when it was behind the glass, so he thinned it out to make it easier to grill
