Can anyone recommend a breeder? I know they're energetic and should really be called Boston Terrorists, yada yada. TIA

Eva Carraway (Eva's Babies) in Plantersville. I picked out a Boston for my parents from Eva, and he is the best-looking Boston I've seen. Well-behaved, ripped, and has some crazy jumping skills. I think we paid $500 for him. Bostons are great, and I am trying to decide between a Boston and a French Bulldog (expensive, but awesome).

Here is the info I got by googling her: H-936-894-2045; C- 936-870-5956 (Phone Calls preferred); evasbabies@embarqmail.com

Do they stink or shed?

Do they chew furniture or shoes/clothes?

I have two Bostons, a male and a female. The female is way more hyper than the male, although she's not crazy hyper like other dogs I've seen. They don't stink, but their gas does! You need to feed them good quality food if you don't want to be run out of the room by their gas. And they snore...really loud. It's kind of cute, though! They do shed a little, but not as much as most dogs.

As for chewing, they really weren't any different than other puppies. Our male never chewed, our female did a little (she nibbled all the table legs and a few collars but no shoes)...but with a little redirection she got over it really quick. She didn't chew anything after she was a couple months old...she's 5 now.

they are great dogs..... awesome personalities, playful, sweet, loyal, and so on. our 2 bostons have shed just a little; they don't smell; and yes they often rip some decent gas. we've never had a problem with furniture.

i have one.

awesome dog. great personality, easy to train, he doesn't smell, (but his farts ****ing REEK). mine is laid back, protective and very loyal. shedding is very light, if any at all. he never chewed. he thinks he's human/part of the family, etc. someone here mentioned that their boston is 'ripped', so is mine, he's cut up pretty good with some nice muscle definition. looks like he's wearing a tuxedo with his coat.

These are good dogs, all the ones I have met have been real characters.

To say "if any at all" in regards to shedding would not be accurate of the breed. They shed little hairs, and are light shedders compared to some other breeds.

I have an 11 month old Boston and he rocks, but make sure you are really ready for one of these dogs. Mine is crazy hyper. If he doesn't get out for an hour or so 3 or 4 times a week he is bouncing off the walls. Great dogs, but very energetic to say the least.

i noticed some other people here said their boston's farts are absolutely terrible so i looked it up.

it turns out they inhale a lot of air when they eat because of their smaller snout.

anyway, it's pretty funny when he farts because he leaves the room immediately knowing i'm going to complain about the smell.

Thanks. Very funny replies.

We are a boxer family but thinking about trying out a Boston since putting down our male boxer. His mother 10 years is still with us so I somewhat concerned with such an energetic dog picking on her. They seem really similar to boxers in look (smaller) and personality.

I have two male boston terriers and they are both completely different. One is very hyper and the other is the most relaxed dog I have ever seen. We just got the second one, we rescued him from the Greater Houston Boston Terrier Rescue of Greater Houston, http://www.houstonbostonrescue.org/main.php.

It is a great organization, and they help match you up with a boston that fits the personality you are looking for. Good Luck

Just my two cents, but my experience with Bostons would lead me to believe that a young Boston would probably be a good companion for an older dog. Some are hyper, but they are almost all fun-loving and intelligent. There have been probably 15-20 Bostons in my extended family (uncle is a vet, and he got us all hooked on Bostons), so I have been around a lot of them.
