In my food engineering class, we talked about it. It has more than 1, due to the fact that the items in the soda have energy contributions. But the problem with soda (well the phosphoric acid in ALL soda) is that it strips out calcium from your body. Your bones are a calcium sink, so as the levels decrease in your body, it takes it from the bones. Over time, if you don't replenish it, you get holes in your bones, aka osteoporosis. That has been part of the reason for the massive rise in that disease.
