I forgot the name of it, but it's in the Spring area. Has anyone here been to it?

Yeah, I think that's the name of it.

The one that looks like a big chinese temple on the northbound side???

You walk in past the cheap trinkets and fish food for sale for the pond out side and then get seated in a hall full of "less than desirable" people of all types.....

Working at the time in the restaurant wasteland that is Greenspoint, I was really looking forward to China Bear opening. they had been building it for about a year it seemed. Anyway they opened on a Friday and my business partner went there for dinner. He said it took about an hour to be seated because they were so busy. Monday rolls around and the sign said closed for remodeling. WTF?

Anyway they opened again about six weeks later. I went there for lunch and never went back.

I've heard bad things about it. I went once and didn't think it was terrible, but most of the people that I've talked to have said it was bad, so maybe I just caught them on a good day.......

Norwegian, same experience here. We went on the opening day for lunch and got there early (11am?) and stood in line outside the door. Got seated after about 15 minutes.

Huge selection of food but it was all cold and the line for the foot was HUGE.

They shut down to re-organize the layout of the buffet I think. I've been back a couple of times, not too bad but the food isn't hot enough.

Since it is too shady for one of the ht's, I want to go there even more.

man, its just weird. you walk in and there's this awkward ass gift shop you have to walk through...

the buffet just looks so manufactured. mass produced sushi and visually, you just feel like you're in that paul walker movie where he's from boston or new york and those kids are getting molested in that house.

its just bizzare. from the exterior to the presentation to the gift shop to the crowd eating there.

Exterior does not blend in with anything around it, so yes, it is out of place. The gift shop is larger than you would expect but places like Cracker Barrel and other restaurants have stuff for sale. Granted, Hooters and Mambos don't have nearly as much crap for sale, but they don't mind selling hats and t-shirts.

Now with respect to the crowd, while I haven't eaten there in about a year, the people eating there seemed okay. What do you expect for a low cost over done Chinese buffet restaurant? Lots of people in shorts and shirts, a bunch of folks in casual slacks and nice shirts, a few with suits or dress shirt and tie... Maybe the crowd has drastically changed in the last year?

Oh, and DON'T go for hi-kwuality Chinese food, you might just get let down...

Speaking of chinese, is that Lucky Burger place still open? Where exactly is it?
