The guy got caught in one of the Nigerian Cashier's Check scams. Sold this pickup on eBay for $9600. CC was a fake, the guy who picked it up showed an address of:

106 Woodland (or Woodlands) Ct. Ovilla TX 75154.

The trailer had a license plate from a Chrysler car, so it could have been stolen, but the owner of that plate is:

'Kirby Denise Jones' in DeSoto

Hi Aggies! I am the guy that had my car stolen. I didn't realize that car thieves will now (1) meet you in person, (2) provide a valid ID (Texas Drivers License), and (3) pass fake cashier's checks (with watermarks).

A member of the neighborhood confirmed that the physical description matches the person that resides in the home. It has also been reported that there have been problems with these particular neighbors. I am currently waiting on the Medina County Sheriff to set up a photo line-up so I can give a positive ID and issue an arrest warrant.

Glad to hear that at least one arrest was made. It would be nice if they could round up the other guys and link them to some sort of theft ring and put them away for several years.

I went to school at what is now TAMU-Commerce. Hubbell Hall is a male dorm on campus. If the guy still lives there, he is a student.

What kind of shape was it in?

I don't care for the color (light-blue), but the paint job was pretty good. It's kind of lame that they painted the chrome black (should be a law against that). I'd like to have the truck painted dark blue eventually and get some of the pieces back to chrome (bumpers, etc). They actually put in a floorboard (carpet). The motor and transmission still runs strong as it always has. I am thankful that it was in one piece. Now, I'm planning to engrave 'Don't Mess With Texas' on the back and 'Adams' along the side. I'll never sell it now, due to its unusual history.

I think the story might be on The Russ Martin Show today or sometime this week (live 105.3) in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The story is also scheduled to run in San Antonio on KSAT 12 on Wednesday 10pm.
