The poor dog doesn't appear to be injured but looks ragged and you can tell she's been fighting for her survival for awhile now in this heat. She has a very calm and sweet demeanor. Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to take care of her and being that it's a Sunday afternoon, it doesn't appear any shelters are open today.

Anyone know of a place or options in the DFW area that might be able to take her in?

Could reach out to Saving Hope Rescue in Aledo to see if they could help. Or send a FB message to Friends of Weatherford Animal shelter & ask them. They are usually very responsive & seem to help where they can.

Thank you. I'll try both of those Monday as they look to not be open today.

Friends Weatherford FB group is just made up of volunteers that manage the page. They answer to messages 7 days a week. When our dog ran off (right after we brought her home from the shelter), they helped us find some crates/traps to catch her on a Sunday.
