Staying at the Marriott in Allen this weekend and I love asian food... Thai, Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese etc...


Any good places around there? Won't be able to go too far from the area...

Not Allen... but N. on 75 to Eldorado Dr. there's Thai Noodle Wave. In Plano (Independence and 15th) is Wu Wei Din.

Edit to add... at Legacy and 75 there is an Asian market/restaurant area... I'm sure there's some very worthy restaurants there.

Silver Thai in Allen is very good.

probably not wanting to go more than 5 miles or so... We're selling plants at a plant convention and we'll be leaving college station at 6am on friday and working till 5 to set up.. then we go to someones greenhouse to get more plants... saturday and sunday we're there from 7am untill 6pm... So we'll be very tired...

you're like the 3rd or 4th person to mention that place..

The dumplings look ok.. but the rest is americanized Chinese food.. I'm looking for things like chicken feet, sea cucumber, clams, razor clams, snails, peking duck, dim sum, takoyaki, etc... real asian food.

They do have duck, which is good. The dumplings are really good too. Not sure about the other stuff.

Pretty much all the Asian spots at Legacy and 75, or Spring Creek and 75 are good.

For dim sum, go to JS Chen's on Legacy.
For Korean, I would recommend the cold noodles and pork ribs at Maht Gaek on Spring Creek.

Thought of one more, Sichuan Folk on Legacy if you like spicy. I haven't tried it as it's not my fav but they do have chicken feet. Their lamb with cumin sauce, and salt and pepper fish are both great dishes. And get the cucumber appetizer!

I live in college station.. been to Dallas about 3 times in 55 years..

Last time I was there a tornado came through Dallas and knocked out office windows of the tall buildings... no idea how long thats been...

Richardson China Town

A few doors down from Jeng Chi is Royal Sichuan
The boiled fish soup is very good. I believe it is F1 or F 2 on the Menu. Also recommend Vegetarian Flat Noodles and Spicy Wontons.

Jeng Chi is good as well but the Xio Long Bao is only good to average.

Not aware of any authentic China type Restaurants in DFW. Only Houston area.

I think the authentic stuff is down around 75 and Beltline in Richardson.

Thai Noodle Wave was a favorite when I was working in McKinney years ago!
