Howdy

I'm looking for some ponds around Mckinney that people would recommend. I don't have a kayak or boat. I'm used to walking creeks in BCS and Austin so any of that is fine. Don't mind trying my luck on some neighborhood pond and leaving when asked if anyone has any spots like that - I'm catch and release and don't leave any trash. Primarily fish for bass.

Thanks in advance!

My parents have a, roughly, 2acre tank on their property that's about 15-20min from Mckinney. Stepdad is pretty cool with people fishing as long as you ask first and leave things the way they were found. Added bonus...if you get in good with him, you're setting yourself up for some gooooood BBQ on occasion

There is a pond/creek at Lebanon and Plantation Ln (believe it is Frisco) that is across from a golf driving range that I see people fishing from the bank

I like to fish in the city parks and creeks around Coppell and Grapevine. Most of the creeks here are used for drainage and can have very steep banks, making it hard to get down into them. When looking for a place to fish, I'll look for creeks running through parks, and try to access from there.

Just from looking at a map, Towne Lake Park looks to be a place to start. You might be able to get down into Wilson creek right there.

In Allen, cottonwood creek runs through Allen Station Park and could be another option.
