We are starting to plan out our kitchen remodel and looking for some recommendations.

The guy we had teed up right when COVID hit has now retired so we are back to zero.

Our remodel will be heavy on appliances (high endwill use only authorized installer so GC will have to work with that), repaint cabinets, build out cabinet for built in fridge), and all new countertops / backsplash / sink / faucet / lights.

We drive around our neighborhood and look for contractor signs and think we have a few good leads but thought I would check with Texags.

I can't speak to their remodeling but they built my home. We have no complaints.

I'm sure you are aware, but it's a pretty bad time to remodel. I have a friend and a relative going through remodels right now and both have been awful. They had they contractors vetted, spoke with happy former clients, with labor and material shortages they're both way over budget and behind schedule by months.

Well that sounds miserable.

I don't know how much better it will be but our plan is to for April / May 2022. I feel like the whole world is behind and maybe it wont get better until 2023 but I think the wife is ready to get this done. Most of the work, we pray, is relatively basic (no walls, no new plumbing, etc)

We know appliances are back-ordered by 5+ months so we want to get ahead on that....the one thing we want to do is really just ensure the work we want done hasnt changed too drastically to put a wrench in our plans. If costs of the cabinets, countertops, etc went up materially from quotes in Q1 2019 we may have to revise our appliances a bit....

Try Heritage Stonecraft in Garland or Bateman Services in Richardson. We used both contractors for our remodel a couple years ago and we're very pleased with the work.

Huntington Remodeling did my remodel in Frisco last year and did a good job. No complaints other than typical stuff with subcontractors but the project manager got everything taken care of.

That is good to hear! I think our job should be relatively "simply" and maybe to a point where some don't want the work but we will see....

They are finishing up our kitchen remodel and enclosed our bedroom. They may not be for everyone, but I liked them because they gave me a detailed itemized quote, communication was often, and they were the able to value engineer (reuse some cabinets but have resufaced) on alot of things so I could save money/put towards other things

My parents used their friends at Granite & Tile in Allen (off Stacy) for their new counters, backsplash and floor. Fair pricing and the install looks really nice. They can probably refer you to trusted contractors for the other work you want to do.

We are really struggling to get someone to even come out. Not sure if anyone else is working on a remodel or trying to but this is getting crazy.

Considering we are not re-building all cabinets and not moving plumbing / demoing walls and also are having appliances installed by an "approved" vendor (not the contractor)....i am really starting to think about doing this on my own and finding my own painter, cabinet modification guy, and countertop. I have plumbing and AC guys I know and trust.

Can it really be that hard? Maybe just a struggle with logistics?

Ok. Pretty funny story.

So I emailed my wife that rec this AM right after ytou said it and I looked at their website.

Today I tell her "nobody is even responding" so she takes it upon herself to start driving around the nicer areas and look for contractors and starts getting numbers / cards (her basis is if they are doing a $1M+ home they probably are at least ok).

Her last text about 5 minutes ago was a business card for "Home Platinum Services" and she said "he seemed really good"....all while not realizing I had already emailed her them.

I would wait. Friends in Frisco have been dealing with a nightmare

Our timing is April 2022. Surely some normalization by then. Just needing ballpark estimates on countertop and painting.

We had a good experience with Daycor years ago. I don't have Stephen or Phillip Day's contact info anymore but I think this is them. http://designingcabinets.blogspot.com/
