Staying in ft worth 6/2. Looking for a place to eat that meets this criteria;
Kid and dog friendly patio
Walkable from one of the hotels in map below
Good beer selection
Downtown preferred

Does that leave me with anything?
Bonus points if it's a brewpub or brewery w/food truck.

TIA

I'm not sure about dog friendly patios downtown. Maybe the Flying Saucer? Downtown adjacent, I'd recommend Maple Branch Brewery or The Bearded Lady.

Little Red Wasp have a patio? Have not been since before Covid but I always loved their food. They have a good drink selection too.

Dog-friendly patio is throwing me off...maybe Cowtown Brewing? Rogers Roundhouse is near Woodshed. Flying Saucer hits the beer selection point. Panther Island, Rahr and Martin House are somewhat close to downtown. Funky Picnic, HopFusion too.

Woodshed looks to fit the bill for walking and the dog, but doesn't look like anything on the menu geared towards a 5 and 6 year old. But a place with a large outdoor lawn type area is the right track.

Any others like that?
Scratch the downtown preference, I'd rather be further out but by a hotel on the map so we can walk. (those are marriotts, I'm using points)

Rogers Roundhouse, Rodeo Goat, and Bearded Lady are all dog friendly and I've taken my dog to all of them multiple times. Not sure if any of these are walking distance to a Marriott off the top of my head though.

If you're using Marriott points, I recommend the AC hotel downtown. Brand new and great service. We've held two meetings there and stayed overnight both times. If you didn't have kids and dog, I'd recommend the Sinclair, it's awesome.

Also not sure if the Drover is pet friendly, but the location would be very walkable and the stockyards has really grown with lots of fun dining options. We haven't stayed there yet, but we've gone to brunch a few times and it's lovely. Their patios are really nice, but again I'm not sure about the pet situation.

We stayed at AC denver in 2019, it was just 2 years old at the time, and we really liked it. I kind of had this as my choice for this trip, but noticed they have $100 non refundable pet policy.. so I don't know about that.

Is that typical you think? I'd gladly pay $100 if the dog messes something up, but to just take my $100? My kids will make a bigger mess in the room then the dog.

Edit; drover looks to be VERY pet friendly (they have beds and bowls to borrow for the room, welcome biscuits, a dog concierge, dog leashes for use, a vip bandana for dog to wear lol).
But again, $75 non refundable.

Given those options, I would pay the $75 to stay at Drover. I think you'll be really happy with the walkability over there and the hotel itself. A non-refundable fee does seem strange to me, but we never travel with our dog. Depending on your Marriott status maybe you could get it waived?

Bearded Lady & Rodeo Goat were the first things.

But look up Mutts Cantina at Clearfork. You have to pay for your dog to get in but not your children......

your kids don't eat sausage or tacos? They don't have chicken fingers but I've never head trouble finding something for the kids to eat there.

They'll eat tacos with beef, cheese and sour cream all day.

But tacos with kimchi or pork banh mi.. probably not! They aren't that refined yet.

It's more about price; kid's meals are cheaper because they are small portions My kids are 5/6.
If I'm getting them an adult entree at $14, I'd have to get them to agree on something to split.

Courtyard by Marriott Fort Worth University Drive
Walkable to:
Woodshed (1 minute walk, decent beer, dog friendly patio, pricey)
Rogers Roundhouse (5 minute walk, Great dog friendly patio, good menu that fits kids, not too pricey, good beer selection)
HG Supply (Walk down Trinity trail to the east under University bridge for 5 minutes, good food, hipster-ish vibe with weird menu, but great dog friendly patio)

Downtown Hotels
Gives you more options for food, but not for dog patio type stuff.

Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Worth Cultural District
Would be a long walk to most anything along West 7th which is a busy street, it would take you 15 minutes to reach Rodeo Goat or American Gardens. West 7th turns into a bar hopping atmosphere after 7 or 8 but most places have a good atmosphere during the day.

Or you're next to the park where you could walk south to the restaurants listed on University but it would take you like 45 minutes to walk to the Woodshed

Stockyard Hotels
Can't think of any dog friendly patio places in the stockyards, but cool to walk around for an afternoon.

My suggestion would be the Marriott on University Drive and walking to Rogers Roundhouse. And that hotel will be easy access to I-30 or University which will take you wherever you are looking to go. TCU is a 5 minute drive south on University, West 7th/Museum District is a 5 minute drive North on University, Magnolia is about 10 minutes, and so is Downtown.

Here is Rogers Roundhouse website
https://www.rogersroundhouse.com/

If you're looking for a brewery, you could drive to Wild Acre which would take 10 minutes or so. I don't believe they have food, but a good brewery with some yard games for the kids and a dog friendly patio.

I thought I had a winner for options near that courtyard for sure.. but alas, the darn hotel doesn't even allow pets.

I think I've narrowed my hotel stay to aloft downtown, because of no pet charge. I have a hard time forking up $100 for the dog. We may just end up having to drive somewhere which isn't a huge deal.. just can't drink all night!

I'll attempt to hijack this thread to not clutter up things....

Would like a nice dinner spot for the wife's birthday. She loves Capital Grill but couldn't get reservations at a decent time. 4 adults, no kids. Del Frisco's is also up there. She loves a place with good bread and desserts. Anything out there you guys would recommend?

If you're sticking with steakhouses, yes, Del Friscos DE is right next door and great. Also check out GRACE downtown. Reata is not really a steakhouse but is downtown and really good. Also: Piatello (Italian), Bonnell's (Western cuisine), Nonna Tata (Italian) on Magnolia, Pacific Table (seafood), are pretty cool date-night/birthday spots.

For steak, I like H-3 in the Stockyards.

Biscuits are bread right? Fixe in Clearfork is a good spot for a birthday, great bar menu.

Ellerbe on Magnolia. Bread (w Hawaiian red sea salt) and the desserts are both great.
