Look into prepaid terminal parking at DFW's website, they do sales all the time and even on regular days are usually half the price of just driving up to the terminal.

I use express parking at the airport. Usually it's quite handy. Occasionally I'll gave a hard time finding a bus back to the lot. It is much better than remote parking though

I always use Parking Spot. There are 3 different locations near DFW. The one I have always used is now called The Parking Spot Premium. It's located at 5100 W. John Carpenter Fwy. I think this location offers the better covered parking option of the three locations.

more on parking spot

the earlier you reserve your spot, the bigger discount you get. I've had them discount up to 80%. 10 nights covered once was just over $40 with tax

I still don't undertand the desire to park at/near the Airport. If you can't get a family member or friend to drop you off, take an Uber or a Lyft. Hell even a car service isn't all that expensive.

All depends on your situation. For instance, my family is going to the Clemson game (leave Tuesday come back Sunday). Price at Parking Spot North is $55 uncovered, $75 covered. We live about an hour away, Uber and Car Service run $40-$60 one way, being that we leave Tuesday most of our friends are at work and can't drop us off plus there is the using of 2 bours of their time. Train is about 1.5 hours to get there.

For us, parking at the airport is faster, cheaper, and more convenient. Not the case for everyone or everytime but there is a case.

They are discounting 50% right now. It was cheaper for me to park for 3 nights this week at terminal B than to Uber.

I live 50 mins from the airport. That's a damn expensive Uber and/or a big burden to put on someone else when I have a 7am flight and need to leave my house before 5am.

We always use parking spot if we are not getting a ride from family or friends. Never had any issues with them.

In addition to the normal discounts mentioned above, DFW's prepaid parking website has specials every few months (I remember one called the "orange" special or something close) that cuts the rates even more. When one of these pops up we usually book all of our upcoming trips, you can usually cancel a day or two out. We only live 10 minutes from DFW but it still usually comes out to be a better deal than Uber unless we are taking a trip longer than 5-6 days.

How did I never know about prepaid DFW parking. If it says Terminal A Long Stay Parking that just means Terminal A correct?

Yep.

It's fairly new I think. And an FYI...if for whatever reason you don't use your prepaid or park somewhere else, just email their customer service the issue and they will probably reimburse you. They did for me.

Question about this. How do they know which terminal you park in? You pay based on when you enter and leave and there isn't a gate at the terminal parking. Is it just a reference so that they can monitor availability?

Recently did prepaid terminal parking and paid $80 for 7 full days. Off peak UberX runs about $50 each way from my place. So this kind of deal where I can park at the terminal, not jack with catching any type of shuttle bus BS, and come out ahead of any car service is great.

They don't know. They are just trying to steer you to park in the terminals where the parking structure has been redone and they have huge capacity. But in reality you could park in any of them.

There's a camera at every entrance that scans your toll tag and/or your license plate. Then when you leave the airport, you obviously go back out the toll plaza.

Another option is to park at the Belt Line DART station. Ride the train one stop and get off at Terminal A. Zero cost (unless you do the honorable thing and pay $2.50 for the DART pass).

I travel every week and use the Parking Spot. It adds 20ish mins but I rack up points. Havent paid for parking on a personal trip in years.

This thread just made me check IAH's website to see if they have something similar. Alas, no such luck.

I prepaid for terminal B but parked at A due to the flight leaving from A1. I didn't have an issue scanning my QR code when leaving today.

Right. When it comes to terminal parking, the only check available to them is at the entrance/exit to the airport overall. Designating terminals is an effort to funnel the volume to the capacity because most people will obey what they bought, but at least at this point, they can't check it. Maybe they'll eventually put something in.
duck79

That is what I assumed. I went ahead and parked in A due to the gate change and the fact that when I purchased both A and B were not sold out. Someone posted that their was a license plate reader which conflicted with your reply earlier.

Karma obviously got me however because we landed at C31.
