I may be taking out a personal loan in the near future and was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a good credit union in the area (Far North Dallas/Plano/Frisco)? I bank with Chase but have read that loan rates are often better with a credit union and am hoping to find someone that can provide a good rate without sacrificing customer service. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I use InTouch Credit Union for auto loans and have not had a negative experience with them.

Just googled this. Today they are saying PenFed credit union is offering 1.9%. You can do it on line.

I've had excellent luck with Texans Credit Union. My parents have also been members there for decades.

There is an InTouch CU near my house (McDermott and Custer) that is always crowded.

I use the Credit Union of Texas. Had no issues with them. Parents have been members for 30 years. Got my car at 1.69% with them like 4 years ago. I think they offer a low of 1.99% now.

I have been using PenFed for car loans the past 12+ years with nothing but good experiences, but their personal loan rates are closer to 10%.

Any chance Chase is offering some kind of 12-month, no-interest promotion on one of their credit cards that you could do? Or were you needing something longer-term?

City Credit Union is super easy to work with. Highly recommend.

We've shifted to Navy Fed since our son joined but would be with City or Texans otherwise.

We still use Greater Texas/Aggieland CU and live in Frisco. There is a branch in Dallas if you need it, but we handle everything online.

Second vote for Aggieland CU. The loan officer at the branch in College Station on Southwest Parkway is legit. I did my entire loan by email. He even helped me sell my car.
