Just checking into Stream Energy as an option for my energy provider in the DFW area. Has anyone used them or currently using them?

No experience with Stream. Currently with Reliant.

They are all the same. They all use the same lines. Just choose the best deal for you.

I have Stream. Only complaint is the $2.95 "convenience" fee every time I pay online. I'm actually doing them a favor by not having one of their employees post my payment, but I get charged for it.

The plan that I use and like is the simple and secure plan. 9.6 kwh and no extra fees only pay per KWH.

No but we got Gexa for 4.6kwh with just a few fees. Still the best deal on Power to Choose.

GEX 4.6 is just the energy charge .. not the total cost per KWH. The Oncor charge that everyone has to pay is 3.5 per kwh. New customers on Stream as of today are 8.8 with no fees for those who use over 1000 kwh per month. That is the total cost ( ie usually labeled avg on Power to Choose). Quoting Energy charge only is VERY misleading

even the avg quoted is misleading - says are some additional fees then says avg for over 2000 kwh is 5.1 but when you add their energy charge (.0275) and TDU (oncor .0335) that is over 6 plus fees

Yes I calculated all of that out for multiple plans from the fact sheets before choosing. Gexa still beat out all others.

We just started with Gexa. First bill was $80 for 3 weeks & we have a pool.

Just switched from Infinite to Gexa. The $0.041 per kwh includes the energy charge, TDU charge, and all applicable fees and credits.

We have Stream and I guess the service is okay, but our on line banking system sucks, so I like to go direct to the company to pay my bills, and they charge $2.95 if you go to their website to pay. Our bank mailed them a check, rather than pay by electronic transfer, and it took them so long to post the payment, that I had received a disconnect notice and gone to their website and paid $2.95 to pay them a 2nd time. The check had cleared my bank well over a week before they posted it to my account. So, mailing my payment in is also not an option.

Our contract with Stream is up next week and we will be changing just because of their bill paying system.

We have Stream and their billing/payment system is awful. If you go to their website to pay online, they charge you $2.95 for the privilege of taking your money. Mailing a check is even worse. It took them so long to process and post the payment when a check was mailed that I was receiving disconnect notices and charged a late fee. The check had already cleared my bank account - they just never posted it. I ended up going on line and paying them $2.95 and making a second payment that month to avoid the disconnect.
