I just used "Personal Touch" tree service. They took out a tree between my house and the neighbors (i was afraid it would fall on my house). $285 to take the tree and $100 extra for the stump. Didn't even leave any sawdust. Jim Breaux @ 214 328-7213
I have a live oak that needs some significant trimming, but would like some advice on which branches I can cut, that wouldn't harm the tree. I can make the cuts and repairs myself, just don't want to over cut it.
My only recommendation for tree service is to ask for a copy of their insurance certificate AND call and verify with their agent/carrier that coverage is still in place right before they start work. The good tree companies will have the certs with them at all times, the bad ones will cost you your house if something were to happen on your property. As you can imagine, the good ones aren't usually the cheapest.
I have a guy that does it professionally and then moonlights.
