I bought an engagement ring from bluenile. My fiancee really likes it. At first I thought it was a bit lame to buy it off of the internet, but in reality, it doesn't matter. The ring is really nice and we both like it.

Diamond Doctor

I went to the World Trade Center at 35/Oak Lawn. The entire 7th floor consists of wholesale diamond sellers, ie middle-men that sell to stores at wholesale prices. I went to Bella Diamanti, talked to Rotem, and got what I considered to be a terrific deal (think $4k/ct very high quality). All you need to do is call to set up an appt bc only licensed vendors are allowed to shop, but they can get you a temporary pass. Very professional and easy to work with.

Just make sure you talk to Rotem. He hired a girl who isn't very smart, but he is great. Know 3 Ags (buddies of mine) who have all bought from him and been very happy.

I used this guy for my wife's engagement ring as well as a diamong necklace I had made for her last year. My dad bought my mom a new diamong ring for their 30 year anniversary from him, and I have referred a number of people his way. Really good guy, straightforward, works with you, and great at what he does. Cannot recommend enough.

Works out of home/showroom. Does fabulous work. And he knew the diamond Doctor when he was a kid. Says he's a good guy but plays up the schtick with armed guards and ads on The Ticket. You're paying for the show. I don't know though for sure either way.

Whiteflash.com. Bought my wife's there wife. Wholesale (distributor) prices. Typically online stores like blue Nile and Whiteflash have Better price to quality ratio than any diamond seller. Best quality for money. However its hard to buy without seeing it. Unlike blue Nile it is easy to visit Whiteflash since its headquarters is in Houston... Bought engagement and wedding band there for wife. So you can see it before you purchase it. All their diamonds are GIA or AGS certified (top certification).

We used since1910.com. They overnighted the center stone for my husband's approval. It appraised at almost double what he bought it for.

Good recommendations on this thread. I had Bob at Whiteflash.com locate my diamond. Fantastic job, can't beat those guys. They'll bring any diamond in and run a series of tests (to learn more check out the tutorials on price scope.com) for little to no charge. You can even drive down to Houston and view the stone in person prior to purchasing if you'd like. They'll kick Blue Niles ass on price and you'll know you got a quality stone vs trusting a broker pushing the stones they have in inventory on you.

Next, go see Anthony at Pampillonia and have him design the band. Anthony is an amazing guy and will treat you better than you can imagine. Tell him Chase Hanna sent you if you'd like. He custom designed my fiancées ring and set the stone I brought in from Whiteflash. We just went back for wedding bands. He'll be our jeweler for a long time.
