Google has basically options:

I20 - 349 miles

TX114 - 321 miles

Will I regret taking the 114 route through Seymour, Gutrie, etc because of how much I'll have to slow down in each little town?

Also any good places to eat along the way?

We just made this drive last Saturday. Take the northern route:

35 N to Denton
380 W to Jacksboro
114 W to Seymour
82 W to Lubbock

You can make it in just over 5 hours (without traffic and one pit stop). This is also a scenic route with some nice terrain most of the drive.
