Has anyone replaced their fence lately at their house? How much did it cost? What kind of fence did you install? What I really need is a $/ft cost.

I am trying to decide if I should do it myself or get someone else to do it for me. I am pretty cheap so I imagine I will end up doing it myself but I am looking at all options.

are you needing the entire fence (post/wood) or are your post still good and you just need new lumber?

I have to replace the whole fence posts and all. I have wood now but I am going to replace with steel. It is not worth putting wood posts back in just to have them rot away in 5 years.

I have been looking at getting a new fence in my back yard. I have had three quotes so far and the best cost I have found is ~$37/ft which was for 8ft board on board, pre-stained (dipped), with steel posts. A 6ft fence was ~$31/ft. This was from Texas Best Fence. I was impressed that with thier quote they provided a list of ~500 homes they have done fences on, all sorted by zip code.

I think the quotes I got last week were 6' side by side with metal posts for around $24/ sq ft. I estimated it would cost me around $15/ sq ft to do myself. Trying to decide on a route now.
