Does anyone know of another place i can load up on plants, shrubs, mulch, etc. I'm tired of going to Calloways and spending too much on plants/flowers for the flowerbeds. Home depot and lowes is hot or miss. Coming from east Texas, it's almost double the cost.

Bruce Miller Nursery in Richardson (Belt Line, east of Central).... It's run by an Aggie.... they always have the best selection and it's cheaper than Calloway's. They also guarantee their plants.......

Covingtons over in Rowlett (not close to you Comby but not horrible) has really nice stuff. Still expensive though.

If you want to drive into downtown (a straight shot down I-75) - the farmers market is a great place to buy bulk plants. Ruibal's is my favorite. I have been getting plants from them for years, and they are healthy & long lasting. Prices are usually better than Calloway's, quality is consistent. And you can get a bulk discount if you buy a lot.

Plus, there are several nurseries right next to each other, so if one doesn't have something you want, you can go to another one.

Happy planting!

Northhaven Gardens, on Northhaven between Forrest and Royal just west of 75. Next to the Jewish Community Center.

Im also a big fan of Shades of Green in Frisco off of Coit. Aggie owned and operated. They wont sell anything that doesnt grow well in Texas soil.

Sign up for Calloway's coupons on their website. They also have "happy hour" at least one day during the week where prices are half off.

Shades of Green in Frisco is AWESOME! My mother (an Aggie) worked there for 15 years, and both of the owners are Aggies & close family friends. They sell great plants...
