How long do you want to ignore this user?
A group of us (6-8) girls are looking at going camping for a night the Sunday or memorial day weekend. We would like somewhere very naturey outside DFW but would prefer somewhere with cabins (yeah, yeah, I know, thats not really camping).

Any recommendations?

Beavers Bend Oklahoma is supposed to be nice with cabins.

I like the state park in Mineral Wells. I don't know about cabins, but we've always rented an equestrian site because they have running water, and they are very short walk from restrooms and showers.

The park has at least one great hiking trail and plenty of other activities.

Cooper State Park would fit the bill for you. North of Sulphur Springs. I would contact them soon, because they may book up the cabins quickly.

I was there this pastweekend, nice facilities and on Lake Cooper. They have a swimming area, boat dock, etc.

Turner Falls

Not too far away...just on the other side of the TX/OK border.

+2 for Turner Falls....or Meridian State Park. Out of the way, it has screen shelters, not cabins. It has a trail around the lake.

I'll preface this by saying that I hate people who come on here and bash perfectly good suggestions, and I'm not trying to do that because Turner Falls is beautiful, but I've always had a skewed view of this place because the last time I was there a dirty diaper floated by me in the river. I know, I know, a one-time thing, but it scarred me for life.

Beavers bend and Broken bow are awesome too. I'd highly suggest these places.

+3 for Beavers Bend, though I've only gone tent camping there, never used one of their cabins.
