I played The Tribute last Thursday with a buddy of mine. Excellent golf course. I was really taken care of and the greens were amazing. I'm playing Tour 18 with the wife tomorrow. (she's not a beating either. she's pretty good) Anyways, I was really impressed with The Tribute and I'm pumped to check out Tour 18. This is my first year to get out and play new courses because I was a member of Walnut Creek for the past 25 years. Now that I'm married I have to get my own membership, Not my Dad's! I'll let y'all know how it goes. On a side note, I'm about a 7 Handicap right now and from what I hear this course should play to my liking.

if you thought the Tribute was great, prepare to be disappointed with Tour18


skip the T18 and go play the Texas Star in Euless instead

Or play Cowboys in Grapevine. Tour 18 has some pretty cool moments but all in all it is the suck. Tribute is in another league.

i liked Tour 18. It's fun to walk Amen Corner and play the TPC Sawgrass 17th, even if it's watered down and soft.

I'm playing Tribute towards the end of June. Looking forward to it.

Tour18 is cool to do once, but overall, Texas Star beats it all to hell.

heck Bridlewood is 3 miles from there and has decent rates.

texas star is a very nice course, but tour 18 is worth playing once. especially if you watch a lot of golf on TV.

Well, like I said I'm back to comment on my round. I pretty much agree with everyone on here. I loved The Tribute. I actually told my wife next time we will play there Friday, stay the night @ the hotel and then play Cowboys Saturday on our way home. Tour 18 wasn't too bad. Besides the idiots behind us that hit into me 3 times. It was the slowest round ever. We were the 2nd to last group behind several Foursomes. I finally drove back to the tee box to let the guy know that the holes with a blind tee shot he needs to look. He was really rude and said "he figured we'd be further along". I responded with "not when four Hackers drinking 30 beers stop every hole to drink and pee." By 18 Tee there were 4 groups on the tee box! Other than that it was a decent course. I've played most of the holes on Tiger Woods so that was cool!! *I will Definitely try Texas Star in the near future! Thanks for suggestions

I hate tour 18, I gave it 1 more chance this weekend and it sucked. The round took forever and I even had the group in front of me drive back and yell at me for hitting into them. I waited 15 minutes before I hit so they shouldn't had even been there any longer!

Why does Tour 18 suck here; over booked, poor conditions, management? I have never played the one here but played the one in Houston several years ago, course was not in the best of shape but it was a fun experience.

It is just overrated and overpriced. There are so many good course right around it that it seems like a waste of time.

My main complaint with the Flower Mound Tour 18 has been the condition vs. the price, but I think it's improved somewhat on the price from where it used to be - especially if you look around on the internet for specials. They run quite a few.

The play can be quite slow too, but I don't necessarily blame the staff. Just the concept tends to lead toward the course being somewhat difficult for the average weekend hacker. A number of these holes are famous partly because they're tough. So that's going to slow things down.

Like I mentioned before, it's a neat place to play once or twice because you'll never get the opportunity to play many of the real holes, but beyond that, the value just isn't there for return visits.

The usual rate according to the website for Friday afternoon, which is when I played, is $85. My wife booked it on golfnow.com for $33 per person with cart. So we saved over $100 which we made up for with beer and Uncle Julio's after the round.
