Does anyone have any suggestions for a bar that serves appetizers at minimum and is friendly to a group of about 50 people?

My group's annual January spot is being really hard to work with this year. Guess they don't want Aggie business.

Hmmm... that's not a bad idea. We haven't been there in a few years and they have free happy hour chips and queso.

my office does a lot of happy hours at risky's also. they have a pretty big area in the back that they give us to ourselves.

We just opened last week, and would be happy to have you.

Our place is called T&P Tavern and Grill. It is in the T&P Building/Train Station in downtown at 221 W Lancaster. We have only opened the patio and kiosk so far. It is covered, and protected from the wind and rain.

We have food and a full bar. We are open for breakfast from 6AM-11AM M-FRI, then from 4PM-10PM, SUN-THUR, and till 2AM FRI-SAT with Happy Hour SUN-FRI 4-9PM.

We haven't done any advertising yet, and are still expanding the food and drink menu.

Yes it is just the patio right now. We are doing a two phase opening. The kiosk/patio is phase one, then the old diner. We are going to keep the art deco elements, the diner stools, and old black slate bar top on the inside. It should be open on the inside next fall. The kitchen and menu will expand then as well.

My wife and I stopped by yesterday for the Cowboys debacle and give it a big thumbs up. They have a good selection of beers and the sandwiches look pretty good but we only had chips and salsa.

It got a little chilly on us at the end as we didn't bring jackets and it cooled down quite a bit when the sun went down. We were under one of the space heaters so we were actually fine. It's going to be super awesome in the spring and summer as it's fully covered.

It's really cool setting in the old train station. If you're going, the entrance is between the T&P Building and the T&P Lofts. Just go down the right side of the driveway between the two and you'll see an opening on your right.

H.D. - Do you guys have cable/satellite or just over the air channels?

We will have satellite soon, when we permanently mount the TV's. Right now it is just over the air channels.

The Omni will have a sports bar called Whiskey and Rye that will accommodate that many. We open mid January.

In addition, we will have a wine bar for the more sophisticated palate.

HD, keep us posted on the progress. I live a short walk from there & have been waiting for y'all to open. Sure does look like a good spot for some game watching parties.
