again, trying to expand out here. Since I have been in Dallas I have been to all the chains, Fox & Hound, Humperdinks, etc.. I have been to Frankies, Christies and Gators...what are some other good sports bars in Dallas?
Trying to find a new place to watch the game this saturday? Is Champs in Addison any good?

Champps isnt my favorite. There is a new one on Greenville Ave. called the National Sports Lounge that isn't bad. Watched the Monday night game between the Cowboys and Eagles there and it was a lot of fun. The inside is really nice, has great TV's, and good food. Gotta be careful though becuause this place is next door to Kinky (see one name bar rules) and you get a lot of the muscles and affliction shirts that migrate over and they can get aggressive.

I spend most of my time at Stan's right down the road. Its got older TV's and could probably stand to be updated, but there is something about it that is just awesome. Beer in Mason Jars, and there are actually a lot of Ags who hang out there.

Austin Avenue II in Richardson at the old Nedley's location....... I haven't been yet, but it's usually crowded on the weekends.........

went to NSL for the first time this weekend, not too bad...cold beer and decent food...however, some of the TVs arent the greatest quality, and the glare makes the big screen useless until dark.

After 9pm, they opened the walls facing Greenville, and it cooled the place down with a nice breaze.

The MAT - McKinney Avenue Tavern is decent, some old TVs, some new, usually a little less crowded than Frankie's and the food is good - my pick for best burger in Dallas.

Wild Card - White Rock Bar and Grill on Buckner. This place is a dive and at 27 I am usually the youngest patron by at least a decade but if I want to see a game and not deal with a crowded duushe-filled bar, I go here. They recently upgraded all their TVs to plasma/LCDs and since the place is never crowded and there are a ton of TVs, you can usually get one turned to whatever you want to watch. Food is really good, drinks not too expensive and everyone there is an alcoholic so you leave feeling pretty good about yourself.

The exact same synopsis could be used for Bailey's 1st and 10 off of Mockingbird and Skillman

I lived on White Rock Lake for six months and always wanted to go to White Rock Lake Bar and Grill. How you described it is exactly how I envisioned it.

I'm disappointed I never went for a Monday Night Football game now.

from another post:

quote:
A general rule of thumb for the metroplex. If a bar has a one word name, its usually filled with winners. Some examples:

Sting -
Kinky -
Zen -
Wish -
Purgatory -
...and so on and so forth. Try to stick with places with multiple word names.

Not Dallas, but the sports bar in the Gaylord in Grapevine has the biggest TV you'll ever see.

If you want to go to Frisco, 3rd Base is pretty good. It's by Stonebriar Mall, across from Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Good food, lots of TVs; staff is easy on the eyes, too.
