Went to Mary Immaculate in Farmers Branch & it reminds me way too much of the church I grew up going to. Bland and boring.

I loved going to St Mary's in College Station, but have since pretty much quit going to church. St Mary's did a great job & I'm hoping to find something similar up in North Dallas.

Any suggestions?

Where do you live in Farmers Branch?

There's a good Catholic Church (as far as crowd involvement at Arapaho & Hillcrest). I also really like St. Ritas at the Tollway & harvest Hill

I have several Aggie friends who go to All Saints. They have a great Young Adult group.

Is it like a super church? I dont know if I can handle going to church with 25,000 fans I mean patrons.

I guess some of it depends on what you are looking for in a church and what you're willing to put into it. The great thing about St. Mary's in College Station was that it was a function of how much the congregation participated in making the church what it was. We had a couple of good priests while I was in school, but what I remember the most was all of the volunteer opportunities and the sense of community I felt there.

St. Rita's is nice. Lots of young families and everyone seems to know each other. However, for my taste it seems a little too non-traditional.

If you're willing to drive a little further, I like St. Thomas Acquinas in Lakewood. Youngish congregation (30s-40s, some with young families), traditional Catholic environment, smallish services. Christ the King in University Park is where I go, and I like it, but my main beef is that it's full of 'old money' and gets very little participation other than in the collection basket.

There are lots of Catholic churches in Carollton/FB/Coppell/North Dallas. I'm sure you'll find one that fits your style.

I go to St Monica at Midway/Walnut Hill. Very traditional church/service (still has bells at the consecration). My wife grew up in the church & we love it....tons of young families and an awesome Dad's Club. Not a great church for single people though. Plenty of social stuff.

Try the 5:00 pm mass on Sundays at St. Monica. Even though it originally started out as a "Teen Mass", it is not focused on that so much anymore. It is very popular - the music is inspirational, the new pastor is very good & a regular "visiting" priest is the President of Jesuit College Prep and lots of people come from other parishes to listen. I am not aware of any social activities for a young single person but you can make a home for yourself there if you are not limiting yourself to a certain demographic.

Try St. Rita's off the Tollway and Inwood. It's pretty nice, and they have a bilingual mass, which is good to go to Christmas and Easter you can get there 5 minutes early and still get a seat. It's half spanish and half english but it's actually really good. Good choir too.
