Anyone know of an honest a/c repairman? I think i have a freon leak and need to get it checked out. I am on the northwest side. Thanks!

Glen Springer with Springer Heating and A/C.

He and his wife are friends of ours (wife/me).

He is honest.

He does regular work for Bob Sims (79) who also belongs to the S.A. Aggie Club. I think Bob is some kind of a landlord. His ads are for a Mortgage Co. I think.

The only rub is if he has the schedule time.

I'd recommend Zinsmeyer out of Castroville if the people you recommended don't have the time. They've always been good to us, arrive on time, etc... They also go into SA. If he can't get your friend, I think they'd be good. Your opinion... I assume you know them.

yes I know them. I worked for them a couple of summers. I know Troy, Kevin, Leroy and some of the older Z's that are retired. I also used to work with Gregory Z before he formed A/C Technical (he does big commercial jobs). Zinsmeyer installed my home AC and are certified for Trane which I have in my home.

Glen Springer is also certified for Trane and lives near Medina Lake. Either one would be good.

really weird seeing my uncle mentioned on this thread. i will have to tell him when i see him in a couple weeks that TexAgs approves of his work

cool. I was still in HS when I first worked with Greg, who is 2 years younger than me. He was already working on his licenses then.

BTW... I have a nephew who is head baseball coach for Southeast HS in Dalton Georgia. He is from the Castroville area also.

I've had Air Systems come out to the house a few times. Never been over $200 (including an emergency weekend visit in June when my wife was days from delivery). My neighbor recommended them after they came out told them that they just needed some freon after one of the "TV guys" came out for a "free" inspection and told them they needed a whole new system including ductwork. A few other neighbors have been very happy with their work as well. Looking at getting a new system this fall. Will still get a couple of estimates anyway just to be able to compare.
