Anyone have a good AC company they'd recommend?

I had Abacus out...but they're apparently only interested in trying to sell me a new AC system.

We had a really crappy experience with an HVAC install. Called Alamo Austin Air out to check their work and tell me what they messed up on and I was impressed. Didn't try to sell me anything, just basically said "here's everything they messed up, call them and make them come back out to fix it." Spent about an hour going over everything with us. He was probably out for close to 3 hours and we paid $90 for a service call and that was it.

I had Abacus come out, and all they did was send three different people out to talk in circles and tell me I should just buy a new AC unit. I originally called them for a very minor thing, and the unit has been cooling just fine.

I did some research online and Alamo Austin had the best reviews, and were locally owned, so I called them (they're coming out today). Glad to hear you had a good experience.

Just went through 5 bids for AC replacement and these guys blew away all the other bids in every way, they even handle the Austin Energy rebate.

I highly recommend Kevin with KMAC. They're a small mom/pop AC service company in Pflugerville/Round Rock/North Austin. They put a band-aid on my AC system for 4-5 years due to a freon leak and Kevin finally convinced me to install a new AC system which is heads and tails better than the old AC system. My new AC system is much more efficient and my electric bills are lower, too! They're good, honest, hard-working people and will shoot straight with you. Best of luck with your search and AC issues.

Small independent shop and have used them for years and they go all over Austin. Fair pricing, honest work and quick response and work. Never tried to oversell me anything

If Alamo Austin comes to Georgetown, I'll call them tomorrow. My AC unit is working. But my ducts are a mess.

Our contractor used Casa Mechanical during our remodel. They did great work and were Johnny on the spot when we needed them.

Late to this one, but recently had a really good experience with Lantz Home Services on a big HVAC repair. Super proactive and did all the warranty legwork before the repair.
