Does anyone go to RR Express games very often?

What's the deal with the obnoxiously loud announcer?

I will admit I don't go often, it's about an hour drive from my house, but the speaker volume is insane, to the point I nearly lost my voice trying to have a conversation between innings.

Has it always been this way? I was just sitting in one of the middle rows on the 3rd base side between home and 3rd.

We've been twice this year and hadn't noticed that. We were in the outfield seats though. Could be we were too far from the source! I don't even remember hearing the announcer.

We didn't notice that back when we used to go, five to seven years ago.

The last two games were in company or friend's suites and five or more years ago. We got spoiled on the suites. That's a fun and not that expensive outing if you can get a few people to join you. We've been down the third and first base lines and in the outfield too, and enjoyed those experiences as well. Nice little park with good food and beer selections.

The PA guy probably has voice immodulation. How dare you?

So I haven't been in awhile, I think last time was pre-covid. We used to sit in the outfield seats and the speaker was obnoxiously loud. Then I think once or twice we sat closer in and it was fine.

So I was surprised this time to be sitting so close to home and still getting destroyed by the speaker.

When I got up and walked around it was still pretty loud, although not nearly as bad when up by the concession stands.

I know we have the same problem at Kyle, there are only so many speakers but I feel like our whole section was getting blasted out. I didn't try going over one section or more to see if it was the same.

It is a great little venue though, which is why I wish it wasn't so loud.

I went to a couple games this year, and didn't notice that it was too loud. We usually sit close behind the Express dugout, so we're some distance from the speakers.

That's good to know, I would like to go back to future games but not if it's going to be that loud. We'll just try a different section (and I'm assuming the games usually aren't sold out which means we could float over to another section if it was still an issue).
