2 adults taking a weekend trip later this summer. Any recommendations for things to do? Places to eat? etc.

Looking for something relaxing. Like to eat at breweries, hang at a spa, etc. also interested in low-key live music spots.

Not sure of your age as both of those are on east 6th and are typically a younger crowd.

Great OYO dive bar pub crawl on Burnet if you want to hit Billy's, The Aristocrat, Lalas and Buddy's place

I'd suggest staying in, and enjoying the Domain area.

A few great places to stay. Spas in the area, good food options, breweries all around the area, and fun night life. You're 20 minutes from downtown, if you want to go spend a day down there.

If you want to spend time in Dallas just go to Dallas. Nothing wrong. with just not a great representation of Austin. Dallas does the Domain scene way better

The Domain reminds me of what Downtown Austin used to be.

To each their own though.

Which part! The Louie store? the Gucci store? Flemings steakhouse? But for real no trolling here what part of the domain is like old Austin? Maybe the industrial area around the soccer stadium where Austin Beerworks and a few other breweries are?

I enjoy high end luxury type places probably more than most but Dallas does that better

Throw in two more continental club and Perlas

All the restaurants, the bars on Rock Rose, the breweries and food trucks, etc. We used to go downtown, park, and hang out all day...shopping eating, enjoying events, etc. the Domain is set up more for that these days.

Also, the OP mentioned Spas, Breweries and good places to eat. The Domain area has all those covered.

I mean, I get it. It is a bit more high tone, but that's part of Austin now. If he wants a nostalgic trip...don't go there I guess. Maybe head to Threadgills for some chicken fried steak before you shop at Vulcan Video and grab a bite at Shady Grove.

They had a great chicken sandwich too. It was a fun place for sure

This is why OP needs to provide some context on what they like.

To me, the Domain is just a shopping mall full of chains and not somewhere I'd like to spend any time. However, that could be what OP is into.

The Domain is a great place to get robbed or your vehicle stolen. Or maybe both.

I mean Spas? Barton Creek or Lake Austin or GTFO! There are plenty of breweries up there but also many more in more traditionally austin part of town

As much as I wish that is true, the timeline keeps getting pushed out.

At this point, I would be looking at summer 2024.

Still may get it in my lifetime. The Ambiance wont be the same but the food was awesome
