How long do you want to ignore this user?
Getting married Sunday. We cancelled our planned honeymoon and just booked a room at the Fairmont for a few days. Found out yesterday that they are closed effective Sunday night. I'm trying to find a workable alternative. Any suggestions? Many of the hotels are closed. I would love to stay in a downtown condo but am having trouble finding any.

I just read that the Austin Motel and Hotel San Jose have have closed till this is over. There may be a lot of these cases. This is crappy timing for y'all but you will never, and I mean ever, forget your anniversary year.

Tent is the ticket to get you anywhere you want. Do that.

In all seriousness CONGRATS! All the best to y'all.

No AirBnB available? VRBO?

What exactly are you all planning on doing downtown?

Wargo: you might consider a bread and breakfast type place in the Hill Country someplace. All the bars and restaurants will be closed downtown (with some doing takeout), so staying downtown won't be the same as it typically would be.

If you don't mind driving to Dallas, the Ritz in Dallas is running a special for $220/night, with a $50 upgrade for a suite. You get a $50 credit for breakfast room service, and they also have a great room service menu (with some offerings from Fearings) with no "service charge" and 40% off wine.

The Dallas Ritz is really nice

Don't fall for that trick...also do not fall for the vasectomy trick either.

In a gross hotel room downtown where everything is closed instead of in the comfort of your own home? Why? What is the appeal?
