Apparently they get audited/taxed on inventory twice a year, so right before then they have a week long sale where some bottles are wholesale +$1. Some deals are better than others, but it's typically a pretty good time to buy.

Typically the more expensive the bottle the better the deal. They don't compete on price with Total Wine in the under 50 dollar range normally except during the sale

It's all hype in my opinion. Total Wine beats their prices even on the $1 sale.

I do not use Twins for price but for convenience. I have two less then a half a mile from home and I can get in and out 5 minutes tops.

On cheap wine and liquor, this is true, because there isn't enough margin on the cheap stuff to make much of a difference. The higher end stuff is where I save a bunch of money on the $1 sale. And I've started shopping a Total Wine lately for my cheap everyday wines.
